DRIVECLUB on PS4

A fabulous racer IMO. I can't say what was wrong with it at launch but as it stands now, the game is too stupendously excellent it would be a crime for any racing fan to miss out on it.

Graphics are mindblowing. The dynamic weather and time system is cool. The gameplay riveting and fun.

I'm still not sure how the online portion is supposed to work, the whole club thingie. But on the whole Driveclub is not to be missed if you are into the genre.

It's too Gran Turismo for my tastes. EA needs to bring back Burnout.

I know, and DriveClub is nothing like Need For Speed. It's a simulator in that you're literally penalized for doing anything that could be deemed reckless in the slightest. Accidentally brush by another car? Can't accelerate for 3 seconds, or however long it is. Touch the rails or go off road? Fuck you, again! It's a driving simulator without any of the tuning or earning licenses aspects. A complete bore.

Not to mention drifting is impossible.

Exactly. It's very accessible, much like Forza Horizon on X360.

Both games feature A-B races which I prefer over closed circuit (Forza Horizon is open world by design).

Closed circuit games such as Grid I only like when the handling's a good blend between arcade and simulation.

Haven't touched a NFS game since the early days.

The rebooted Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted were great. Criterion Games will always be the best racing developer, for me. It's too bad they're done with racing entirely. I believe they're trying different genres now. Burnout Paradise remains my favorite racing game.

Oh wait, I played the first Most Wanted on Xbox, that one was alright.

I like a bit of crazy racers as well such as Burnout Paradise, and I've always had a soft spot for the Flatout series. Flatout 2 on PC is awesome !

And who played Carmageddon when that came out?

Since I have a free year of PS+, I bought my first ever online game

Final Fantasy 14:A Realm Reborn

It comes with a free month subscribtion, so at least I can know if I like it

SPINTIRES (PC)

This game absolutely kicked my ass when I first started it, but since getting the hang of it after a good 8 hours, it's addictive, fun, and a total blast to play.

The concept is simple yet brilliant, drive trucks and awesome big-wheeled monsters through a variety of terrain, unlock other rigs and complete the main objective, which is to deliver wood.

Boring, stupid, easy you say ? Think again.

There's only 3 games on the PS4 coming out this year I really want...pathetic lineup for me

-Bloodborne

-Final Fantasy Type -0

-Witcher 3

Well, the combat was a bit more responsive than Skyrim but less than Dark Souls . In Witcher 2 the areas were very small and could not be considered an open world. Apparently Witcher 3 is a full open world

I think I'll like it, and May is an open month for me game wise. I started Alien Isolation earlier tonight. An hour in and I can already tell its gonna drag, cause I've just encounter the bastard for the first time. I'm attempting the infamous Hard mode.

I hear that the game is as boring as sin.

Then again, I haven't played it.

It's a sin to call it boring if you have any love for the film and its atmosphere that the game attempts to imitate... and IMO succeeds at.

I loved the experience of hiding / evading the beast while being trapped on a meticulously put together space station.

I can see! Getting tired of it yet? There are times when I want to go back, because most of my friends are still playing it, but then I think of the farming and broken loot system and can't bring myself to do it.

I'm fine with random loot, but there needs to be a tier system. So killing some random grunt on a planet and some tough beast in a strike shouldn't be able to drop the same thing.

Like that chest in the Vault Of Glass which always gives you that grass pedal item, can't remember what it was called. That's not even random since it always gives out the same thing. They need more consistency, is all I'm saying. On the other hand, if there was enough varied content in the game perhaps it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but there isn't.

I just read an article the other day explaining why they shut down the loot cave, because they said that players didn't realize playing the game normally actually dropped more loot. That's utter BS.

I'm itching to get an Xbone and the Halo collection. Though I already own all the games on the previous consoles, I just need to buy them again. I'm a fan of the single-player campaigns and I'm in it for the mythology.

Besides, I'm going to need that machine when Halo 5 comes out. Can't think of anything else I would like to get at the moment. Wait... there's Forza Horizon 2 (right up my alley).

Maybe I'll get one when there's a reduction in price. Then again, I won't want to wait. :)

I've actually been wrestling in my head whether to buy a non-Sony console since the GameCube. The Xbox bundles just suck right now. If they literally had any two random exclusive games over the two AC games I already own I'd probably jump on board. It might be best to wait for the price drop/slim model in a couple years though.

Yeah at this rate our hard drives will fill up fast.

It's better to have these enormous games on disc anyway, to be able to play it while it's still installing. A major advantage of the PS4.

You can always just delete a game when space runs low.

The latest patch for Elder Scrolls online is 20gb. Welcome to 'next gen'.

KM, when playing The Last of Us turn Listen mode off and play on the difficulty just above default. Makes the game much more satisfying and realistic.

So I go to download Last of Us and it's 45 GB

How can a game be this big?

Games have always been that big, but in the past they ran off the disc instead of the hard drive. I've been looking at upgrading my PS4s HD to 2TB since I've already maxed out my 500GB (including multiple game deletes).

Was enjoying Alien : Isolation until I ran into a group of survivors who take an instant homicidal dislike to your character. Have so far been unsuccessful at getting past them without getting killed, and therefore haven't went back to it in a while.

My Dualshock 4's right trigger stopped working so it's time to use some Amazon vouchers and startup Dragon's Age Inquisition on the PC in the meantime.

This just happened to me lol. I knocked one out but couldn't pick up her gun then got mowed down by the others. These types of horror games wear thin incredibly easy, I have to be in a very specific mood to play. I instantly turned it off and put in GTAV.

I think I got past that part with a bit of experimentation, it wasn't anything particularly unusual. But yeah, the game clearly isn't straightforward or shallow in its systems. You have to think and have a degree of patience.

It felt fairer for example than Outlast, which was basically just a game of trial and error.

Decided to get me an Xbox One. There's a sweet bundle with Halo Master Chief Collection right now, so I couldn't pass it up. The Halo fanboy in me simply couldn't resist.

I don't care I've played these games before. I could never not enjoy them.

Seeing I played Halo CE Anniversary + Halo 2 on Xbox 360 recently, I'll just dive into Halo 3 and Halo 4, followed by Halo and finally the remake of Halo 2.

No MP for me... Maybe in the future I'll give it a go, but it's no priority right now. I only tried some online Halo 3 back in the day.

ODST is supposed to come out later this year as DLC and hopefully Reach will follow. They are very much essential in the Halo universe.

Lords of the Fallen also had a huge 5 gb "patch" to download and it was on disk

Anyways I'll play Last of Us, but on Normal difficulty...it's not the type of game I'm naturally good at
