  1. Very interesting. Nice to see a kind of directors commentary in regard to music in a scene, and it would be nice for this kind of thing to be more common. Oddly enough I've still not the seen that movie, but this scene sparked my interest. Thank you very much. Regarding to the movie I would take a look at it. For me it is an underappreciated masterpiece.
  2. That was fantastic, most interesting. Can't wait to see further videos from you Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I hope to upload a video once a month, I'll let you know.
  3. Hi everyone! it's been a long time since I wrote for the last time, although I visit the forum on a daily basis. By the way, I have made a scene analysis of the music in Artificial Intelligence(the abandoned in the woods one) and I would like to share it with you. Although the text of my blog is spanish, the video is tagged in English in order to everybody to understand it. Here you have, and hope to read your opinion about it: Abandoned in the Woods from A.I.
  4. That's a funny thing because I read it from the organizers of Soncinemad in their web "scoremagacine" and I took it true although I did not trust it 100%... By the way, I don't want Zimmer to score any Spielberg film....
  5. In fact Hans Zimmer was approached to score Munich. That's the reason he could not score The New World for Terrence Malick. But finally Spielberg got Williams to work in Munich.
  6. Match Point - Fascinating, incredible, amazing, a really great movie and a huge improvement of Allen from his previous two or three films
  7. The firs three that came to my mind: A Little Princess, Artificial Intelligence and Poltergeists. Each one is a perfect marriage between images and music.
  8. Here another Spaniard... I hope Cuatro will broadcast the resum, but as Luke has said, they did not broadcast the resume of the Golden Globes ... So, I hope someone will so kind to record it... By the way, my favourites scores: Corpse Bride by Elfman War of the Worlds by old uncle Willy Brothers Grimm by Marianelly (what a nice surprise this score is) Munich o Geisha (don't know which one to choose yet) King Kong (I don't like it too much on CD, but in the film works wonders, one of the best soundtracks of the year, but not one of the best CDs of the year) Bye (and hope to write here quite more often)
  9. It's a very good music, but, ok, I love Russian musica and Prokofiev(not Eisestein) is among my favourites along with Rimsky Korssakof. If you like it, try Alexander Nevsky too. By the way there are new recordings of both soundtracks with proper sound.
  10. I think we might hope for this new year, Spielberg´s Lincoln, or the new Columbus movie about a superhero... Bot will be surely scored by Williams
  11. I found it in FNAC the 28th June, it costed 16.50€ and so was in El Corte Ingles (so buy it en el que menos rabia te dé )
  12. Where are you from? I live in Valencia and had no problem in finding the soundtrack in Fnac, Rosebud (tienda de bandas sonoras) or El Corte Inglés
  13. In Spain is availbable, at least, from yesterday in Fnac and Rosebud. I think you will be able to find that in El Corte Inglés too.
  14. I love MR's score too, but this one is a much harder score to listen.
  15. I think it is a score which is hard to describe. I have listened to it only twice and it's very very action oriented, no melody. For me it's a kind odf a mixture of Close Encounters+The Lost World+Minority Report. It's very dark, and mostly is a Williams we have heard before but there a few new things, such as the Synth Sounds in Track 4, for example. By the way, I think it will work wonders in the films. Hey! This is after all a Spielberg Williams Collaboration!
  16. Where... WHERE? Fnac? El corte ingles? everywhere? Luke, who may rush for it now. Thought i will not hear it. EDIT: You have bought the online version from Spain, or the actual CD in a Spanish store? Through Itunes, it is available worldwide
  17. Yes it's a worldwide release, I have just bought it from Spain.
  18. I will be very pleased to hear some examples of the soundtrack if possible...
  19. In fact, in the Potergesit's Souldntrack Album, Goldsmith states that he never talked to Tobe Hooper, he discussed everything with Spielberg. In fact, Hooper did not take part in editing the movie. One more clue, Michael Kahn was the editor of the movie.
  20. For me the best part is Padme's funeral in Naboo mixed with the creation on Vader, where we can hear both funeral music and the Imperial March.
  21. That list is a joke, voters must be teenagers with little culture about soundtracks. Come on, Gladiator is not even one of Zimmer's better efforts.
  22. I was very deceived about how the music was chopped in the movie. A complete mess for a great score, that deserved a much better treatment.
  23. Duel of the Fates, because when it was released meant a change in Star Wars mood. I like Battle of the heroes a lot, but without Duel of the Fate there won't be Battle of the Heroes.
  24. Luckily, someone has thought to do something like this. The Great Jerry deserves it. I can not understand why in the Oscar night there was no homage to him or to Bernstein. Both are HISTORY of cinema and music. Moreover, Goldsmith had composed the Oscar Fanfare, didn't ther know that?
