  1. I've noticed that a lot of the CG shots, from a distance, look amazing... but up close... they get interesting. It is mentioend in the making of Featurette that they were afraid of how close in camera the animals could get before they "started to fall apart." This is true because, if you watch the "T-Rex rescue and Finale," right when the raptor is stalking the group and about to pound--moments before she is eaten by the t-rex--if you look at the feet, they seem to float on the floor. If you watch the Brachiosaurus scene and zoom in the film up to the brachio's neck and head, the movements are a little too fast and look animated. So, I guess, the reason why it looks so real is because most of the CG in the movie is from a distance--whereas in say Star Wars, you have a full fledged CG Charcter in a tight camera angle. I'm not knocking JP... I am a HUGE fan of the film... I mean, I've written a fan fic, I have JP toys sitting on around my room with the dinosaur artwork posters and such... huge fan... but I also know a lot of the mistakes as well lol...
  2. I was just checking on the motifs page and I don't think it is mentioned... I never noticed how many times it was in the film... but you're absolutely right... I dunno what to call it... It almost seems like a variation of Darth Vaders Theme (Not so much in usage but in pitch)
  3. I wondered about that scene. I'd seen that video that had the first pic in it... and in the making of parts of the dvd, it shows the animatic for doing that scene. I had wondered what happened to it. hm
  4. thank you Darth Tater, but we do have that already... But if you are making your own rip, that is still good to have ;-) Thank you for the help though ;-) It's taken everyones combined effort to get this far... Hopefully we can still manage to get little bits of what's left. Think maybe "Empire at War" will have some?
  5. I'd love to rip it but I can't figure out where it is... my dvd player says it's like... Title 2 or something and 18 or something? (not the exact numbers... I can't remember now) but when I use the program that is spoken of to rip audio, I can't figure out what title it's under... only like...7 come up... ...I can't figure it out :-(
  6. I love Johnny Depp.. I laugh everytime I see that part where they say he's marked... I love it... I'm really begining to like him. I mean, his acting is just phenominall... I got to meet a guy in Key West who is working at this Pirates Museum and he's created a character that is kinda like a Jack Sparrow... but of course, isn't, because of copy right... But that guy pulls it off brilliantly... (really hot too :-p) damn fine... But yea... Go Jonny...
  7. I was curious. There are a few spots that I have the english rip for but Was wondering how the German rip would do. They are pretty inconsecuential, but it would still be nice ot have them. Is there a person I should ask specifically?
  8. It sounds, though, like they're more upset that it's not a Japanese person... and it kinda is upsetting-for me atleast-to hear that they have such anger towards eachother... and that it spills over to something like that...
  9. I was just reading this on IMDB... it's kinda sad... Japanese, Chinese angry over "Geisha" casting: Although it features an almost entirely Asian cast, Rob Marshall's Memoirs of a Geisha has evoked anger and calls for a boycott among some of those who have seen advance screenings of the film in Japan and China, Reuters reported today (Monday). According to the wire service, some Japanese are outraged that the leading roles in the film are played by Chinese actresses Ziyi Zhang and Gong Li and Chinese-Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh. On the other hand, some Chinese are upset that Chinese film stars would favorably portray Japanese, who are still remembered for their brutal occupation of China in World War II. Reuters quoted one blogger as saying of Zhang, who plays the title role: "She's sold her soul and betrayed her country. Hacking her to death would not be good enough." http://www.imdb.com/news/sb/2005-11-28/#2
  10. Did it accompany the mob attack on the car... because if I remember correctly, there was another car attack (different car) scene that was deleted...
  11. I like Mary Poppins... that didn't have a stage adaptation until after if I'm not mistaken... personally I don't like Rent but that's ok... I did love Chicago and Evita and Phantom(not the best, but enjoyable... no comparison to stage though!) Sound of Music too...
  12. I just thought you should all know as well that on the 2nd disk, the special feature called "We are Not Alone," the end credits of that have unreleased music. There also seems to be some un-used music that would go between the piano part at the end and the freed-man/synth part... it's what I believe to be an English horn ditty... perhaps Williams homage to the mother... if I'm not mistaken he tends to use that as a motherly instrument... There is also some music I think was unreleased in the car sequence that is on the "Scoring the Movie" feature... Just fyi...
  13. I know you're all probably tired of hearing about all this but I was wondering if anyone else was planning on making a complete War of the Worlds soundtrack? I bought the two disk special edition and there is some music in the scoring of the film that I believe wasn't released and the end credits will be easy enough to rip... There's quite a few little editing spots... like when they leave the basement... that aparently didn't have music over it until S. S. asked John if he could use the epilogue music for it... so there is some editing for that... I dunno... anyone else donig it?
  14. I'm not into the whole female anatomy but that doesn't make her any less gorgous. She really looks amazingly beautiful. You should see Margret Cho's impression of her! HAHAH
  15. Yea... I was gonna say... it's the ewoks bootleg... DO NOT BID ON IT... I did, and won... but hadn't gotten a chance to pay. Then got told by ebay that it wasn't a user anymore just someone looking for money...they advertiesed it the SAME way... everyhing... Even calling it just star wars...
  16. well I mean... I know that Goldsmith had some released. I have his score for timeline for example... And it seems Howard SHore has some following... they are re-releaseing the LOTR's complete scores... which everyone and their dead grea-grand mothers' want... did they even record it because I remember reading about how he had commented that a mock score put in front of the audience really doesn't do the music justice... or maybe I imagined reading that...
  17. yea, not too much of a fan of the track names lol... but oh well.. Has their been any news on the Howard Shore score? I know that a lot of the Jerry Goldsmith scores that were denied were still released... any news on his kong score or did it not even get as far as recording...
  18. I havn't had much of a chance to play the game personally, but from what I did play and what I've seen, I have to say, I really could get hooke to this game... I am, however, anxiously awaiting Empire at War, BF2 is definately a cool game. AOL news finally mentions BattleFront II now that it's like...a month old... and they only have to say it's a "6.8" or a "fair" game rating... Just thought that was interesting. Is the game really not that great? http://videogames.aol.com/game_main?gameID=27296
  19. almost all my John Williams which is almost all the John Williams lol... soo ...quite a few... I can give you a shorter list of ones I've listened to and seen the movie to than the other way around lol... Dinosaur Rejected Timline Star Treks -nemesis, voyage home, genesis, insurrection, first contact lol Most of John Williams lol :-(
  20. ignore that. I ripped you... :-) You are probably better off with the dvd rear channel rip.. though I suppose you could layer these over it to give back the high tones to the timpani...
  21. are you sure? There is still only one trailer as far as I can see?
  22. I have to say I LOVED his score for Beetlejuice. Then again I'm a string player... I wasn't then, but I am so I have a partiality to it I suppose... But the recent ones... they sound less and less inspired. I have to say I LOVED the piano solo's and the piano duet from Corpse Bride... but past that I was yawning... My friend, who isn't much of a film score buff and tires of how much I speak of film scores even remarked on the score to Charlie and Choc. He looked at me during an Oompa Loompa song and just made a "what?" face and I just noded "yea..." He can write music... but personally... it seems less and less inspired... I loved what he wrote for "Point Pleasant," and for "Fable." But as far as actual scores (anything with more than one track by him) I'm not that impressed... :-(
  23. OH! I just kinda discovered a little something about... I was listening to the edit I have of "Grevious Escapes," and at the end of the edit I have, it goes dooo-do doooo-do doooo-do timpani hit fade... But when I was comparing it to the film version, it's not like that. The last timpani hit isn't there. Instead, a few seconds before hand, there is a tampani roll like the one at the end of when Grevious Enters and then a timpani hit at the last "doooo" and ends on the "-do." I hope that makes some sence. Does anyone have a clean tampani roll and then hit like this one.. If you watch the movie and listen carefully you can get it. at first I didn't notice the roll, only the hit... then after listening a few times, I heard the timpani roll.. Any suggestions? I know someone was making computerized timpani hits, can you do a roll as well? EDIT: I find tha tyou can actual use the DVD rip of that scene, the file is "Elevator scene," and put it there, you can't hear anything except the timp roll, and then use the timp hit from the file just put it in the place of the other one. It works too... only problem is the ending is abrupt
  24. I play viola... and I have an electric five string violin so technically I can play violin too lol I also am technically a baritone, but I always would sing bass in church choir but I was occasionally a tenor back up as I can hit most of those notes as well... I'm just versitle
  25. I don't think that part is in track two... I will check again... but I'm sure it's not... it's only about 5 seconds worth...but still.. EDIT: I checked, at 3:29 in OST track 2, there is about 10 seconds of music that underplays those lines... "Close to you?" "Yes." "Careful you must be when sensing the future Anakin." that isnt there... Like I said, their minor edits, and very small clips but it would be nice to NOT have talking in the track at all if it can be avoided, which is why I asked...
