  1. Has anyone started making disc labels and inserts for the expanded ROTS yet? I'm getting fairly close to finished with my expanded edit, and I'm going to make them, but I'm not quite sure what to do. I'm thinking of having Grievous on the first disc, and Anakin and Obi-Wan dueling on the second, or something like that. Anyone else thought about this, or done it?
  2. Very good news indeed! It's a big relief to hear this, especially, as APBez said, after Ottman's comments.
  3. Hey, I have that lightsaber! It seems to be well-choreographed--okay, decently choreographed and lazy at the same time, like they have good material to work with but are kind of goofing off with it. Still seems pretty good, though. They've got better swordsmanship than I have!
  4. LOL That's a great one to do the instrumentations on! I love doing the tuba!
  5. Excuse me, but what is "Jack's Version"? Thanks Peter Look here. I went with option 1. I agree with king mark. I've said this elsewhere, but it's great having cues like "Another Happy Landing" to add some balance to the darkness of the OST music, and the arrangements that were intended that you're able to make with the game material is really good. I'm very glad I did it.
  6. Oh, yeah, I "hum" all the time--instrumentations and all (much to the anger of my siblings ). I also have a habit of just making up music in JW style as I go--mostly action music (also to the anger of my siblings ). Does anyone else do that?
  7.  As ticked as this made me (I heard rumors of this before and hoped they weren't true), the only problem I would have with Silvestri doing it is the fact that he isn't Elfman. The question is, will they (and should they) keep musical continuity at all with Elfman's themes, etc.?
  8. Well, it's not just how much music there is (but hey, 7 minutes of JW music ain't bad!). The quality of the music and the changes they make to the OST arrangement are a big part of it. I've been doing the edit, and I really like the way it's turning out. "No, I Promise You"/Going to Utapu/Riding the Boga is a good example that comes to mind. And I think that some of the lighter cues, like "Another Happy Landing" add a bit of balance to the darkness and action. If you have the stuff to do it with, I recommend going for it.
  9. Definitely Jurassic Park, and TPM is growing more and more familiar as I put the pieces together in my edit. Gosh, there are so many, it's hard to really think back on it all. Hook is another one... Jurassic Park TPM ANH Hook Raiders TOD LC That's off the top of my head. It's tough to really think hard about, though, you know?
  10. That was great, Cerrabore! I loved the blending of the Imperial March and Imperial Theme!
  11. Well, I bought it a couple of weeks ago, but our internet service isn't hooked up to our computers yet, so I'm using my Dad's computer now. I wanted it for two things before I saw the movie: Battle of the Heroes, and the The Forest Battle music video. But I had it in my hands! So I went ahead and listened to it, and I was sort of undecided on my exact thoughts, I listened to a couple of tracks again (including A New Hope and End Titles, which is one of the tracks that I wasn't so sure on), but I turned the volume up. Let me tell you, it really helps to have the music turned up. At any rate, I'm going to try to listen to as little of it as I can before I see the movie (still haven't gotten to see it! ), but I have been listening to Battle of the Heroes, General Grievous, and Anakin vs. Obi-Wan (they're all freaking amazing!).
  12. Okay, I still haven't seen ROTS yet, but I'm seriously thinking about grabbing it anyway because I'm aching to see the video for "The Forest Battle." See, the thing is, I'm unsure of whether or not to wait until I see ROTS to listen to the soundtrack. I don't know when I'll be able to go see it. So what do you guys think I should do? Listen before, or listen after I see ROTS?
  13. Good grief!! I didn't even read all of that! Uh...that's quite an effort, though!
  14. Okay, I'm confused. What is "FTP"? I would love to check that "Racer's Revenge" music out. And also, can anyone send me a PM concerning sending me the Oktikuti (sp?) City clip? I don't have Revenge of the Sith yet, nor have I seen the movie, so I'd rather not have that stuff yet. Thanks in advance!
  15. Ah! Great! Thanks for pointing that out. On The Invasion of Theed it appears that on the UE the last note was cut off. In the OST and GB it's there, but it's mixed under the wailing, which I would assume was either mixed in or is an alternate beginning to Darth Sidious (it seems to flow pretty well with it). So is that part that I thought was TPM but couldn't place it the actual beginning of Activate the Droids? Because I seem to remember hearing that part, only longer, somewhere before. I could be wrong, though. Also, where does The Droid Invasion end and Attack on Theed end? I mean, which one is the percussion a part of? I'm working with the non-Clone Campaigns version.
  16. Ooh, ooh, can I have it too?! I haven't seen this reported anywhere, so I'm sharing it here. I decided to check Galactic Battlegrounds for any material, and there is a clean beginning for "Escape From Naboo," and there may be at least part of the original recording of "The Droid Invasion," without edits up until the end, when it goes into the synthetic wailing followed by The Emperor's Theme from Darth Sidious and The Passage Through the Planet Core (like in "The Droid Invasion and The Appearance of Darth Maul"). There is also a clean ending to "Anakin Destroys the Federation Ship," and a clean beginning to "Fighting the Guards" if there is a clean ending to "Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan Rescue the Queen" anywhere. There is also some other material listed below. When I listen to the material without headphones, it sounds like at least regular CD quality. If anyone wants the material and/or thinks they can help shed some light on the Droid Invasion material, let me know. If anyone already has the Galactic Battlegrounds game (without the Clones expansion), here are the times with all of the TPM material. I'm pretty sure some of it has been edited (I know for a fact there is non-TPM material that has been edited, so there's always the possibility...). Open the main gameplay music (to do this I think you need to open the CD with your media player--I'm using WMP.). It should run at 31:00. 0:00-1:50 Orchestral Duel of the Fates--I think part of it is cut off at the end. 1:50-2:26 At least a portion of Darth Maul and the Sith Spacecraft, sans Sith chant 2:26-4:35 The Battle Rages On clean, full version 13:36-15:00 Escape From Naboo with clean beginning, and cleaner ending than on UE, but last second or two mixed (a clean end could be faked with reverb or, at worst, a fade-out) 17:32-17:54 I think this is TPM material, but I just can't place it 17:54-18:25/18:25-18:56/18:56-20:41 This gets tricky. The first part I'm sure is Activate the Droids, with the full beginning (compare to the UE version). Now somewhere in here I think it cuts to an uncut portion of The Droid Invasion, but their mixing and/or pasting is very smooth here, so I've got rough times here. The third portion still seems to be a part of The Droid Invasion, but it's mixed like the OST, into the synthetic wailing followed by Darth Sidious and The Passage Through the Planet Core. I'm beginning to wonder if the wailing was actually supposed to be there in an alternate version of the cue, but that still doesn't explain the mixing in of that last bit. I wonder where that goes, also. If you don't know which part I'm talking about, it's something like C D# G, D# F#, A# A, and an A held an octave up. Does anyone know what this is? The end of it is mixed into... 20:42-22:00 Anakin Destroys the Federation Ship, beginning partially mixed (can probably be fixed with a fade-in). It appears to be an alternate by the way it begins, but it pretty much matches up with the UE version, and it has a clean ending on it. 22:01-22:58 Portion of Fighting the Guards with clean beginning, end slightly mixed with... 22:58-23:16 Portion of Enter Darth Maul sans Sith chant. 23:16-24:35 It starts with something mixed with the start of Trip to the Naboo Temple. I don't think this is useful, but I'm open to correction.
  17. I also voted Beauty and the Beast. That's the only one I really know much of, and there's no way I could vote The Little Mermaid after the Academy Awards (really, does the Academy have something against the IJ films or what?!).
  18. What's this about Duel With Dooku music? Is it some unused music from TPM in AOTC or what?
  19. I've heard Randy Newman praised JW in his commentary for "Pleasantville," but other than that, no.
  20. Well, it's got the ROTS logo in the style of Return of the Jedi, so that's pretty dang cool. When I saw that I wished that we Americans were getting it like that.
  21. What?!!!??!! Well, it says two bonus tracks expected, so maybe we won't be getting gipped. And yeah, the link idea sounds about right, Wedge.
  22. Well, I just checked my Target ad. The ROTS soundtrack is in there, with "free digital download" over it...but so is a Ray Charles CD. On the one hand, that makes me think it's just any old download--you can download any one song for free. On the other hand, though, I don't recall Target having an online music download store (although Wal-Mart does), which makes me think that perhaps it is an exclusive score track. So, I just thought I'd share that with you guys. Some food for thought.
  23. Oh, yes! I too love to try and time the ends of tracks to when we're pulling into a driveway or stopping--it's a treat when it happens on its own!
