  1. That would be 1999 when the THX Adventures of Indiana Jones were released on VHS. Technically, I think Raiders became Chapter 24: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark according to the box!
  2. Yeah and it's been re-released like 47 times, I don't get it. It's an average flick. Superman is not a great film, but it's more entertaining. The score is much greater.
  3. Attack of the Clones has one of the greatest trailers of all time ("Breathing"). Nothing like the movie.
  4. The scene where the Orca goes out to sea and Quint is singing "Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of Rum" remains one of the most magical moments in a movie, thanks in part to the music.
  5. 5 for film version and old album version. I think I prefer "One Barrel Chase" to the film version. It's the opposite for "Sea Attack Number One".
  6. Everytime I listen to "Banning Back Home" I expect to hear a disembodied voice say "cloudy, with a chance of John Williams".
  7. It was the best of the new 3, but not without many problems. Most of these really have to do with the various lines or clues we got from the old movies that pertained to the events these films would (should) have portrayed. Setting it 30 years before ANH and having Anakin 9 years old is a problem. He and Ben were much older at the end of RotJ. Ben first met Anakin when he was a great pilot, but he was just a kid drag racer or something and Qui-Gon was the one who met him. Yoda didn't train Ben, Qui-Gon did. Yoda's reluctance to train a 20-something year old Luke implied that they had tried the same with Anakin, but he was still a little kid when he began training. Yoda was too different. The significant change in appearance (and more Grover-like voice) in that 30 year time span of a 900 year old creature was not believable. It was like a Muppet caricature of Yoda. He was too central to the story. He was not the magical sage in the swamp, didn't work. Uncle Owen barely even factored into the new ones. Previously, Ben and Owen were brothers but that change wasn't the major problem. I'm left incredulous by the fact that the entire relationship between Ben, Anakin and Owen was totally ignored in the PT. There's no explanation for the tension between the two of them in ANH, the dialogue about Owen not wanting Anakin to get involved. We didn't think Ben was lying about everything? Very bad storytelling. Luke says in ESB that there was something familiar about Dagobah. This implied he'd been there before (born there?). Lucas probably had something else in mind back then. We have to accept it as "the Force" sensing Yoda or something. I realize those last things should have been addressed by the sequels.
  8. Pretty much anything from Family Plot. The Main Title and Madame Blanche's Séance, Karen Black's first scene where she crosses the street and collects the diamond ransom, the "travelling" version of the theme when George and Blanche drive to meet Maloney, Blanche's search for Arthur Adamson and the finale. That score is a jewel.
  9. That's a very fine Chardonnay you're not drinking...
  10. "The Reunion" "Remembering Childhood" "Welcome to Jurassic Park" "Theme From Sabrina" "Presumed Innocent" "End Credits" from E.T.
  11. End Title (Theme) from Family Plot Dracula Main Title Neverland Theme from Hook Flying Theme from Hook Hook's Secondary Theme from Hook "The Catamaran Race" from Jaws 2 The Cowboys Main Title "Jim's New Life" from Empire of the Sun "Somewhere in My Memory" from Home Alone Whatever that theme is in Jaws when they get the first barrel on the shark and when we see Quint at the bow of the ship during the shark chase, that's my last vote.
  12. Wu Han wasn't a major character. He barely even factors into the movie.
  13. Right. Imagine if it was Sallah or someone we knew. Instead it was a brand new character that's introduced through a bunch of really awkward lines of expository dialogue. Did Indy really need to remind Mac they'd spent years spying on the Reds or whatever? Probably not, but the audience had no idea about those events prior.
  14. I didn't particularly like that line. It was just an awkward bit of exposition for the benefit of the audience.
  15. I wouldn't count on this. The rushed DVD sets of the Star Wars movies were proof that they don't have to do a good job for the things to sell like hotcakes. If they're put on Blu-Ray it's likely they'll just be the same HD versions aired on TV that have been leaked onto the internet. The "mistakes" with the audio were decisions. Whoever mixed the 5.1 soundtracks didn't give a crap about the music and wanted to hear the sound of the X-Wings instead.
  16. I thought the sword fight scene was one of the most "Indiana Jones"-like aspects of the movie.
  17. The "Flying Theme". The standouts for me are when E.T. revives the flower, Elliott's kiss, flying over the moon, "E.T. Is Alive!" and the finale.
  18. The Empire Strikes Back Star Wars Return of the Jedi (the three) E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Back to the Future Raiders of the Lost Ark Jaws Back to the Future Part II Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Batman Returns Batman Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Star Trek: First Contact Back to the Future Part III Those are my favorites.
  19. "The Basket Game" works in ROTLA "The Adventures of Mutt" works in KOTCS Imo.
  20. "Mynock Cave" sounds shrill on 1997 SE album. This is exciting.
  21. Jurassic Park, Star Wars I-III, Hook, Family Plot End Credits, The Terminal, The Cowboys, A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, Catch Me If You Can
  22. If only they'd released the Episode II Ultimate Edition. Then we'd have this!
  23. When Indy runs out of the cave, misses the horse and the chase begins. The entire train sequence but particularly running along the top, the snakes, swinging off and back on, taming the lion, facing off near the magic car and escaping the train (the best part). Indy gets his fedora.
