I love Avatar and I'm bored to hell with this debate. It's just going around in circles and both sides are wasting their breath. I really couldn't give a shit about the fact that some peeps don't like it, there's plenty of other movies to go around. I wonder though, do people here spend more time moaning about movies than they do praising them? I don't know.

The special edition of ET is horrible, I avoid it. The cg ET work is nearly as bad as Jar Jar Binks. It bugs the hell out of me that it has become the version which airs on tv.

In absolutely NO circmumstances should cgi EVER be added to Jaws. If Spielberg ever did it I'd turn my back on him. I'm getting annoyed just thinking about it.

Pretty much the same here. A part of me would even like to see a stupid remake, just for the sheer novelty value of the thing. Either way the original will always be untouchable. I would really only take issue with anyone who thinks it will be a good idea to update the original with cgi and re-inserted scenes. A special edition.
