  1. Yep Just wet them and blow some dust onto the lenses You see, this is why we need that "grain (on/off)" button on our player remotes.
  2. June 3rd 2008 https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Patton-Blu-ray/679/# Just don't read the review, they seem to think the PQ is stunningly good LOL I have the steelbook of that one.
  3. I'm aware of that, but why the knit one slip one approach? How much does it cost to repress a Blu-ray with a newer, better master that has already been produced?
  4. It's annoying that certain titles get stunning 4K UHD remasters but the old problematic Blu-ray masters keep getting recycled (e.g. Predator, first couple of Harry Potters) while other titles get the newer transfers on BD too (Star Wars Saga). What, did they press too many copies of the BD discs and they need to shift them?
  5. Quite an obscure one, and no soundtrack has ever been released (nor likely ever will): Music by Ken Melville and Dawn Atkinson (whomever they are) Edit: okay, on searching I found that Dawn Atkinson is a music producer and is credited with composition, orchestration and conducting on TUAT: http://www.dawnatkinson.com/film.html From the bio page: "She was the second woman ever to conduct the London Symphony Orchestra (at age 28) for the score of a George Lucas animated feature, Twice Upon A Time, a film for which she also co-produced songs for Bruce Hornsby and Michael McDonald." Ken Melville seems to have done at least one game score: https://www.allmusic.com/artist/ken-melville-mn0003416761/credits?1586959609836 This is a terrific score and needs to be released! I wonder if Disney has the elements from the Lucasfilm archives? Does anyone have the ear of a certain Mike Matessino?
  6. Very little is (except some of those later Star Trek films and the first issue of Patton). I'm amazed there aren't grain "enhancers" built into players yet, where you can choose to add back a fine level film grain. They could even give options of different film stocks to choose from!
  7. It's great! Once you understand the basics of all the settings you're sorted. Best of all it still works on my Blackberry 10 OS phones which I now use exclusively for media. My 1st gen Z10 with it's Wolfson DAC has incredible sound quality through decent headphones.
  8. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 202 IIs, I'm very happy with them and they are quite affordable if one can find a new or a good used pair (think they have been superceded by a newer model).
  9. This one: Pro: supposedly it's one of the best Cons: loads of settings and customisation options can be overwhelming
  10. Why does he look like Kylo Ren?
  11. Does The Baton play full uninterrupted cues or do they waffle on top of the music?
  12. I'm stuck with them! Along with fifty copies of JFK.
  13. Along with Intrada's The Black Cauldron, Perseverance's Slipstream and LLL's Star Trek V...
  14. Leslie Halliwell for one disagrees with you. Supergirl got one star, Superman The Movie got zero, as did the three sequels. And I never said it was a good movie, I said it was fun to watch.
  15. What's it like? Supergirl as a film is fun if you switch your brain off. I'd rather watch it than Lester's SII abomination. The score is terrific! Flying Ballet is gorgeous, with or without the visuals. One of the earliest Goldsmith scores I picked up on (along with ST: TMP, Legend and NIMH). I'm sorry I missed out on the Varese CD back in the day, but I fortunately have two copies of the Silva (UK and US releases).
  16. Many thanks, much appreciated, and please take your time In prior years it used to show me the Blockscript page: but for the last 12-18 months my browser just hangs when I try to access the site before eventually timing out.
  17. I never know what's legal and what's not on YouTube (except for example, the stuff that is posted by record labels such as Universal Music and Walt Disney Records).
  18. I'd at least like to sample it first. If you had to compare it to something else that's similar, which score would it be?
  19. Except that these releases end up costing some of us $40-50 because of a weak exchange rate, high shipping costs and customs duties/VAT. Food prices have doubled in the past 5-6 years in my country, VAT has increased, petrol hikes happen virtually every month and our imports become more and more expensive each year.
