  1. It's slightly different, but it's basically the same. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Empire
  2. Blade Runner 2049 - Benjamin Wallfisch and Hans Zimmer Boring. It just drones on and on and on. I'm sure it's serviceable in the film, but it doesn't work well on its own.
  3. I too just finished Blade Runner. I have to say that I've considerably warmed up to the film compared to the first time I watched it. It made a lot more sense this time now that I know the plot. I like it now
  4. So, I learned that there were two OVAs of Yawara that I never saw. Went and watched them and now the series actually wrapped up it's plot lines, so I have no real problems with it now.
  5. I agree with many that 2001 is a snooze fest. I did eventually accept the fact that it's an incredibly well made film, I just don't see much value in it personally.
  6. Your Name Eh. It was pretty good, but there's something about most anime that I can't stomach. I think it's just that I really like the aesthetic of old anime. From a technical standpoint it was pretty good though.
  7. Anyone watched the new anime short? Thoughts? I thought it was pretty good, but I'm not too eloquent and don't have much to say about it.
  8. Also the fathom events version of Nausicaa lol. I freaking love this movie. I watched it like 3 weeks ago, but I couldn't pass up the chance to see it in the theater again.
  9. Miyazaki made a tv show call Future Boy Conan. I haven't seen it, but it's Miyazaki and takes place in the future. Also, how about Akira. There's a good chance she's already seen it though as it's pretty famous. Can't say I'm too well versed in anime to be of much more help.
  10. La La Land I can see what all the hype was about, but it's honestly pretty overrated. It was nice to have something different though. I don't have much more to say though.
  11. Was listening to some Aquabats B-Sides today. One song, I Love the Monster, was really pumping me up. I'll see if I can find a link for it somewhere. EDIT: Here's a link with pretty crappy audio and a really weird video:
  12. It's mostly a post-ironic expression of my feelings towards anime and those who watch it. I really liked the character (plus I hadn't finished the show), so I made he my avatar, while also poking fun at people who have anime profile pictures. It was funnier on my facebook where it riled up quite a few of my friends.
  13. Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl Pretty good characters, but the pacing of the story was pretty wack at times. It would spend 6 or 7 episodes covering 2 or 3 matches at a Judo tournament, then it would take 3 episodes setting up the next tournament. The biggest problem with the show is how unfinished it was. Yawara never got her match with Jody, they really only began to finish the love story between her and Matsuda, and we never even get to see her at the Barcelona Olympics despite that being the primary goal of the series. I really enjoyed watching through the show, but I just felt empty by the time it was over. Started on Maison Ikkoku now, hopefully this show wraps everything up better than Yawara
  14. It was fun! I took my 8 year old brother cause he loves Indiana Jones. We were in the back right, but I bunch of seats were empty around, so we moved more towards the middle. My brother tried to leave during the end credits, but I wasn't having any of that. Over all, much better than the Harry Potter LTP I went to.
  15. So I'm going to the Raiders concert in Salt Lake tonight. I was wondering what standard attire for these things is? If anyone can help that would be great! Thanks!
  16. I haven't really seen any of Trevorrow's work, but from what I've heard I'm mildly glad that he's not at the helm anymore. I see no reason for there to be a delay though, as filming hasn't even started yet.
  17. Akira Distractingly violent at parts, but overall pretty good. Tetsuo would have been a better character if they had established his weak nature better in the beginning in order to emphasize his power and how he was using it. I really liked the scene with the teddy bear and rabbit, especially the shot that goes through the hallways super quick. I give it 8/10
  18. When I was freshman in high school my marching band played swing, swing, swing. Too bad I didn't realize it was williams until like 3 years later
