    "There Will Be Blood" as number 1 is not surprising. As effective as this film is, it is not the best film of the century. "Inherent Vice" is less appreciated, but it is more original and more creative. Besides: Where are Django Unchained, Inglourious Basterds, The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo, Zodiac, The Wolf of Wall Street, Silence, Mulholland Drive, The Dark Knight, Sicario, Enemy, ...

    But then it's weird, that the set of A.I. hasn't that indication. The first and the third CD would have a shitload of stars. What would be a better promotion? I would have assumed that it's all marketing, but is does not make sense, because there seems to be no system.

    You mean: The director of "Schindler's List", the composer of "Jurassic Park", and the actor of Han Solo, making a film that is just okay - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! But it can get worse: The director of "Speed", the composer of "Alien", and the actor of Oscar Schindler, making a film that is just awful - ???

    Is there a certain reason why special labels sometimes indicate which cues were previously unreleased (*) or which cues contain previously unreleased material (**) and sometimes they just don't do it? It seems to be entirely arbitrary.

    No. That's exactly what BloodBoal refered to. The movie itself is good (not great), but nevertheless I hate it as a sequel of the Indiana Jones trilogy. Lucas still didn't get it.

    There is a clear difference. Why listen to crappily sounding music every day just in order to save little space?

    Except "Harry's Wondrous World" the OST of the second film includes no rerecording that has already been released on the OST of the first film. On album you don't even notice that passages were reused and rerecorded, as the second album kind of completes the first one. So you have just the highlights of the first score that are unreleased on the first album.

    There are of course some movies that deserve the term "total shit", but I do not know this example. That is what really annoys me. Some prequels/sequels/remakes don't even need to be bad, sometimes it's enough when they're just different and everybody hates them. So many people considered "The Force Awakens" a bad movie and I assume they didn't even want to like it, although honestly it is the revival of Star Wars since 1983.

    It is true that my statement is only based on the more recent threads and I've not been here very long. Only since the JP collection from LLL. But it is also difficult to discuss something complex on the internet instead of having a dialogue with somebody sitting next to you, eye to eye*. Many aspects of communication are not that easy here. *Nowadays one would probably say "goat bait and to the maintenance shed".

    - I never bought anything from digital music stores, it is all in my CD collection - I never convert the WAV (lossless) files into mp3 files, it's all without any compression on my computer, on my mp3-player - everywhere! - I use Windows Media Player - I just edit some album programs of expanded presentations (connecting a 2-disc program, putting the cues into the right order) I'm shocked how many of you use compressed files to listen to, because I hear the difference and it rings awful. Why would you save storage space in a world, where more and more data is needed every day, if that means that your music doesn't ring lush enough any more?

    I've learned over the last months that JWFan is a great forum to discuss music, but not really to discuss movies for it's a pretty mainstreamed film community here. It is rarely objectively rated and mostly either a "masterpiece" or "total shit". And no, I do not especially refer to Titanic or Star Trek.

    This are the masterpieces of the HP franchise! No, you're not alone! The funny thing is that IMO "Deadly Hallows Part I" is the best (very deep, very atmospheric, created with much care), whereas "Deadly Hallows Part II" is by far the worst of the movies (it becomes more and more obvious how sloppy it was created and that it is not much more than a plain Hollywood flick).

    The problem of the Hobbit films are the chauvinism of its protagonists and the technically exaggerated choreographies (= unrealistic battles and animation orgies). The tone of the movies (from fairy tale to war drama), however, fits the LotR films brilliantly although it is of a substantially different mood and pace. The dialogues, characters, emotions are as good as the ones from LotR, it's mainly several superficial flaws that make the Hobbit films inferior. The Star Wars prequels are much worse technically and let alone in terms of content! There is just evil and good, like black and white - too much to criticize now.

    AotC has less flaws than RotS and PM, the course of the love story is relatively cool. The best part of the prequel trilogy. Peter Jackson has made 6 great films. The rest is a pile of crap or B-movies!

    Many people don't get that the first Hobbit film is supposed to be a fairy tale, whereas its sequels (only the movies, not the novel) become more and more sinister and develop into a kind of war drama set in a fantasy world.

    The first film is better than the second one, for the latter exaggerates the satirical elements. As clever entertainment the first one is still workig better! The scores are both great!

    The Hobbit trilogy is MUCH better than many people say! (Extended Cuts!)

    Although "The Lost World" is my favourite score of all time, I consider "The Prisoner of Azkaban" to be the best film score of all time! - complexity - creativity - versatility - originality All at 100%! Mine is, when Trelawney warns Harry about the dark lord's return. Regarding the movies: the third one is probably the best of the first three films, as 4 of the 8 Harry Potter movies lack enough emotional profoundness: 1, 2, 4 and 8.

    And luckily this and "The Wind and the Lion" were two of the first complete scores of Intrada. We had time to listen to it for ten years now. What a privilege!

    Think about it! It is the complete score! Every note for each instrument of each cue! Some orchestra notes for one single piece can cost a few hundred bucks! I would buy it if it was worth it! Unluckily I have no orchestra I could play it with!
