Yeah as far as I can tell. I know of score podcasts that are dedicated to covering single film scores, but that's different. My favorite episodes so far are probably 5 through 7, mostly because I got hear to more of Goldsmith's TV work, which is something I have yet to really explore. Wish more of it was directly available on its own, but I understand why it isn't. A Marriage of Strangers sounds like fantastic "dramatic" proto-60's Goldsmith for example. As for strengths / weaknesses. I'd say that you guys are really are passionate about scoring and Jerry's work in particular, and it really shows. I do wish you that you would maybe discuss the scores a bit even more in detail, but that's more of a personal nitpick and me being selfish then anything, as I just love to hear about score discussions in general, and sometimes wish they would never end. I can't wait till you get to discussing the essential scores in Goldsmith's filmography, and his changing styles over the years. Keep up the good work.

Tag - Really enjoyed this. The actors had good chemistry (Renner and Fisher were particular standouts), and they actually did a lot with the premise of a bunch of grown-ass men playing tag. Plus I laughed quite a bit. - 7 / 10

Universal has already released it in 52 countries, and the JP franchise is massive worldwide. It's already made $170m in China for example. It's gonna make less then JW overall, but that was to be expected.

Ocean's 8 - Entertaining heist film with a mostly good cast. I didn't find it especially great though, and Ross's direction came off a bit too much like second-rate / diet Steven Soderbergh for my tastes, but it was a good timewaster. - 6 / 10

Oh well yeah, that's fair. I didn't even see it coming. That's what made it so shocking. I loved how they build-up to the finale, but I can understand why somebody wouldn't care for it. It's clearly not for everyone.

You mean the I didn't consider the first a super spoiler since it happens in the first thirty minutes. I did find it unexpected though, and was surprised by how gruesome it was. As for the later, I thought it was approriate given the main plot. When it comes to a film like Hereditary, it's hard not to accidentally spoil something by accident in my review, since while it is one of those films where it's better to see it without any spoilers, so much of why the film works for me has to do with how well the build-up to the finale is, so I can accidentally slip a secret or two about the film, when I'm writing about it. I guess that's what makes it so good though.

Jurassic World: Lost Kingdom - Brainless, but I had a blast with it. It was pretty awesome. - 7.5 / 10

I thought it could be a lot of fun, and good. Out of the Star Wars characters, I think Obi-Wan makes the most sense to have his own spinoff film, especially if they set it between episode 3 and 4. Plus I'd love to see Ewan McGregor in the role again.

Really disappointed by this news, but it looks like the spinoff films were put on hold, and not cancelled. I was really looking forward to that Obi-Wan film.

Rambo 1, 2, and 3 - Goldsmith Solo by - Powell The Incredibles - Giacchino - Lots of fun. It's cool to see Giacchino back in his 60's jazz mode again, with even less Barry influence this time. I especially like Elastigirl's theme. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - Giacchino - Really enjoying this. Awesome monster music. The new theme is a lot more interesting melodically then his previous Jurassic World theme. There are tracks I can ommit, but it's a solid album too.

I really like that this film has more traditional superhero ideas and values. Crime fighting, secret identity, really colorful (the animation is especially gorgeous), and a absurd viewpoint of powers. I thought it handled all those well, along with the family dynamic that made it standout from the other franchise comicbook movies currently. I didn't think the villain was as strong as Syndrome from the first, but I did like the motive and idea beyond it, and it led to some great action sequences as well. I also really love how they handled Jack Jack's powers. Having Mr. Incredible babysit him, made for some hilarious scenes, and along with Elastigirl's story, changed the dynamic completely from the first. There's a funny Raccoon fight, that especially had my audiences roaring with laughter. Maybe not as good as the first, but that's a high bar to reach for me. I thought this was more then a worthy follow-up.

Apparently, a lot of people seem to complain about it. I thought the ending was perfect, without it the movie would have just been another good effective version of The Crucible or something. The supernatural element was perfect, and made the film for me.

The Incredibles 2 - Pretty fantastic, might even love it as just as much as the first. It's hilarious, especially the Jack-Jack bits, I enjoyed how unpredictable his powers were, and the action might just be the best I've seen in any superhero film this year. It's also amazing, how much the animation has improved / evolved in the fourteen years since the first. The movie looks so good. - 8.5 Also it's great to Giacchino back in 60's jazz mode again. I really liked The VVitch, even the ending, which everyone seems to hate. If you didn't like The VVitch, then I doubt you'll much care for Hereditary. It's got the same sort of "build-up to the horror and atmospheric vibe" to it, that I liked about that film. I also appreciate that A24 is funding these more non-traditional modern Horror films.

Definitely. Doc Ock is still one of the best superhero villains ever, and Spider-Man's character progression is second to none. Also few modern superhero films have an action sequence that's as thrilling and as well-done as this.

Hereditary - Legit spooked me. Best part though, is that I got to watch it alone in the cinema. I can only imagine what it would have been like to have seen this with a crowd, shouting and screaming. Definitely not an audience friendly film. Colette was fantastic as well. - 8 / 10

I couldn't even pick a favorite one. First Blood is just the answer I'd give if somebody stuck a gun to my face, and asked me to answer that particular question, and that's mostly since I watched and listened to the films and scores in order. One of the things I like about Rambo III, is that unlike Part II, it's not a balls to the walls action score (great as the action is, it can be overpowering at points), there's actually a lot of subtly there. I especially love the Afghanistan theme, which sounds both heroic, reflective, and dangerous all at the same time.

I agree with you on Warlock. If anything I find the way the synths are handled enchances that score quite a bit, really gives it a more unique feeling. Also the synths are about the only thing I would change about Legend's score. At points, they distract from an otherwise perfect listening experience. As for my favorite Rambo score, I would say the first, just because it's the most "restrained" of the bunch, but it depends on what mood I'm in. If I'm in the mood for some great action I listen to First Blood Part II, and if I want something a bit more vaguely "middle-eastern sounding", and even thoughtful at points, I listen to part III. All three scores are superb, which is the great thing about Goldsmith's sequel scores in general. He doesn't simply just rehash music, he makes it different enough, so they can all stand on there own.

Singin in the Rain, which never fails to cheer me up. It's movie magic from start to finish, and about as good as musicals get. Also Back to the Future, The Before Trilogy, Blazing Saddles, Forrest Gump, or most Star Wars films.

Solo: A Star Wars Story - Really enjoyed this. Probably the purest fun Star Wars film, I've seen in some time. The action sequences were thrilling, Ehrenreich was a solid Han, Glover was a great Lando, and the visuals were stunning. Plus I really dug the "space heist" aspect. Also hearing Powell's score in the context of the film really made me appreciate it more. It fit so well with the visuals. The love theme in particular is quite stunning. - 7.5 / 10

Whoops! I was actually considering using the spoiler tag, but assumed that there was nothing wrong with mentioning a major plot-point in a 30 year old film. Now I know better.

I was surprised by how how "complex" it was, when I rewatched it a year ago. DeLuise comic relief character aside, it tackles some hard subjects. It's actually one of those films that I appreciate even more as a pessimistic adult. He didn't direct that.
