What will the title of SW Ep. IX be?
_deleted_ replied to Jurassic Shark's topic in General Discussion
LOL And in Chinese, it’s Star Wars: WTF. can’t believe 40 years later, Williams is going to score ‘The Rise Of Skywalker’ again. I’m expecting Rey to suck in the Death Star while the Force Theme (not Ben Kenobi’s Theme) plays in the background showing just how suddenly Skywalker-y she is. I mourn for the IX score. Musically it’s very likely to contradict with the Star Wars (77) score again. -
Top 5 John Williams film music tracks from the 21st century (so far)?
_deleted_ replied to Lewya's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
1. Rey's Theme (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) 2. Across the Stars (Star Wars: Attack of the Clones) 3-5. Escapades for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra from "Catch Me If You Can" 👍🏻 -
I bought the Blu-spec CD2 of ESB and it doesn't sound better than the other Sony release. What a disappointment. Now I wonder if Disney will ever release the OT faithfully in supposedly better formats like BSCD2.

The Force Awakens Rey's Theme – John Williams' Best Theme Yet?
_deleted_ replied to BLUMENKOHL's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
There are so many directions he could go into. Rey's is such a unique SW theme. I personally want the new arrangement to be both reflective and adventurous. Maybe the Dies Irae motif would handled like how he manipulated the march-like motif of Across the Stars. 😃 -
And it makes sense because Chamber of Secrets motif was quite prominent in HP2, and the Dementors were a different kind of threat for a movie that's more about Harry's journey from 'youthful pensiveness' to happiness. To me the quirky Double Trouble is just the right kind of ominous humor to lighten Harry's darker chapter. luv HP3 score!😃

TFA track: That Girl with the Staff <- I really like how soft Rey's Theme is here as opposed to the big brassy statement in The Ways of the Force, touched my soul! album: War of the Worlds <- a rock album, very different from his other 2005 scores, ❤️it! composition: Flute Concerto <- I didn't like it at first because the 20th Century style was foreign to me, now I absolutely 101% LOVE it. 😃😃Same! Double Trouble made me shiver when I first it heard back in 2004, now I think it's brilliant, along with the entire HP3 score! Now I see it as something like Theme for Harry's Third Year.

John Williams is Obi-Wan Kenobi, who with his magic, wakes me up from my coma... every time when I go look for the sand people. So my family 👍🏻JW. 😬

His Clarinet Concerto is very beautiful, it strangely reminds me of his scores to E.T. and A.I. but the recording though... 🤦🏻♂️ clearly not an official release 🙄 -
The Rise of Skywalker Star Wars: Episode IX - Early Score Predictions Thread
_deleted_ replied to crumbs's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
Hey hornist, 0. I'm a nobody who identified with Luke when he was a kid 1. How I was introduced to Star Wars (1977) and JW's music has nothing to do with how JW will score IX. 2. No one here has any say about IX, IX is JW's original work = this thread is pointless 3. Bought The Force Awakens OST in 12/2017 -> My Rey's Theme play-count (from 12/2017 to 10/2018) is over 700 ≈ 2.3times/day 4. I bought the The Force Awakens BLU-SPEC CD2 for 70.06USD last November, and will buy the Hal Leonard STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS (SUITE FOR ORCHESTRA) Deluxe Score soon (once I have the $). I look forward to buying the BLU-SPEC CD2 versions of TLJ and IX. 5. Rey's Theme play-count (from 11/2017 to 03/2018) is 6. If you think I'm just another average SW fan who doesn't understand all the existing GL original SW texts and the new SW by Disney & Lucasfim, then you're wrong. I write music and I understand what JW is doing with the Sequels. I STUDY JW and other composers' works because I am studying music and I plan to move to the US in a few years. 6.1 Yesterday, I spent 114.65USD on a label demo CD of the world premiere LSO recording of JW's Violin Concerto & Flute Concerto. 7. Hey hornist, I can't identify with Rey, but that won't stop me from doing this to you: 8. I hope you enjoy IX and its score. Because I know I can't escape JW and I know the IX OST will be my new obsession/drug. Have a nice day in the Netherworld of the Force. Hope you'll come back and Force lightning me.😘
