  1. I think Doyle can't go without using Hedwig's Theme. He'll probably is going to write a couple of his own themes, but when the scene asks for it, he must use William's themes. He can't score the last scene of Gof at the graveyard without using Fawkes theme. It would be ridicolous if he tried to make his own Fawkes theme, because every attempt of no matter which composer to imitate something that's already near perfection will fail.
  2. Interview with Ottman: "Well, the intent right now is to use at least a version of the main theme or make a very respectable nod to it. But it's so early in the game. Films tend to evolve in ways one would never expect. Months from now when we're actually thinking about scoring the film, who knows what we'll do? Will the original theme date a new film, or will the film feel horribly empty without it? I think the answer is somewhere in the middle." "I can say that whatever is best for SUPERMAN RETURNS and its legacy will be done" continued Ottman. "There's no ego here, especially in the shadow of The Master! As far as other themes, there perhaps could be a variation of Lois Lane's theme. We're just not sure yet. The film is not a sequel or a prequel. It is a new film. So the bulk of the score will also be a new score with new themes, but in the style one would expect in SUPERMAN. Part of what hurt the last couple SUPERMAN movies - and they were sequels - was that the Williams music was just regurgitated, with very little new music to let the saga evolve". http://www.superman-v.com/column.php?id=13
  3. Did Michael Kamen got something special last year?
  4. It looks very dull. Like a sheap combination of Men in Black, Independence Day and Mars Attacks. Ofcourse, I haven't read the books.
  5. Actually, I thougth that Williams had composed a new 'Harry Wondrous World' with the new themes incorporated, and that the producers chose not to use it and instead make an easy cut and past end credits suite.
  6. Don't those Hyperspace members have acces to view the scoring sessions? Or hear it?
  7. From BigNewsNetwork Perhaps this makes the chances bigger for Williams to win!
  8. Of zoas we hie in het Vloams zegge, 'Wa ne hoep miereneukers!'
  9. Wouldn't it be so ironical if Patrick Doyle wins an Oscar for his GoF score in 2006?
  10. For king mark: http://www.jurassicpunk.com/movies/warofth...theworlds.shtml You'll find links for downloading the trailer here.
  11. Beethoven's only problem would be that he wouldn't hear his opponants approach.
  12. Yeah, but a conga-scene was shot, and a scene where Black attacks Ron in their bedroom. I would love to seen those scenes.
  13. Just like many Harry Potter fans bought tickets for Scooby Doo to see the Chamber of secrets trailer.
  14. Who has actually heard Franz Ferdinand? I've heard them live, and they are pretty good. I like the idea of them as the Weird Sisters.
  15. I thought James Horner was originally set to compose the music for Sorcerer Stone, but that John Williams used all his connections so that he could score the movie, because he liked the book so much.
  16. Lemony Snickett will steal Harry's thunder
  17. I think that that was to blame to the very bad soundmixing at the Sportpaleis. I think Shore thinks that the Flemish Radio Orchestra is very good, because he hired them to perform the music of The Aviator soundtrack
  18. Who says she has director approvement for all the films? She had for the first film, but I don't think she has anything to do with the decisions for cast and crew.
  19. Five bucks this is the "Malfoy the Amazing Squealing Ferret" scene. I hope that scene is much, very much, better than that stupid, embarrasing, totaly idiot "Eat Slugs' scene in CoS. They should cut stupid scenes like this that have nothing to do with the plot. I really like the "Eat Slugs" scene. I think it's actually very clever, adding a humourous touch to what would otherwise have been a very serious scene (Hermione's "Mudblood" scene with Hagrid). Somehow the juxtaposition of Hermione's conversation with Hagrid with occasional shots of Ron puking slugs seems to draw attention to the seriousness of the scene. One of those weird moments when conflicting emotions tug on the audience's heartstrings better than a single focussed emotion. My toes curled of replacing ashameness trough the ceiling of the cinema thanks to that scene. It was horrible. The tears, Hagrid, everything was too much. They really tried to much.
  20. Well, if I have to believe 'Knack' then their are 200 composers connected with the WSA. They nominate first and then they can vote for the nominations again. Which composer with a bit of common sense would nominate a recycled Shrek score?
