Yes he was. He was still making public appearances, too.

I was thinking about this clip the moment I saw the truncated headline that Borgnine had died at 95, and was hoping someone would post it. When you think back on how many movies the man appeared in, how late into his career he worked and stayed active, and how many of his contemporaries died years ago...this man won. Rest in peace. I love it! It's great, cause, he had obviously hit that point in his life where his philosphy was "Screw it! What are they going to do to me!?"

This was my favorite Ernest Borgnine moment from 4 years ago when he was on Fox and Friends. He talked about his secret to aging well...and well....just watch and listen for yourself. http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/a3b3ed3077/ernest-borgnines-secret-to-aging-well-from-that-happened

The Adventures of Tintin SEQUEL Anticipation thread
Williamsfan301 replied to Muad'Dib's topic in General Discussion
So, has there been any word on whose going to score this one? JW? Howard Shore? James Newton Howard? I'm going with the usual Peter Jackson suspects here and including JW, since he scored the first one. Thoughts?- 465 replies

Disney animation shorts with re-recorded music!
Williamsfan301 replied to filmmusic's topic in General Discussion
My son watches these shorts all the time - I've been trying to get him hooked on the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies, too. I'm glad I wasn't going insane! I kept listening to those shorts and thinking "That music is WAY to clear!!! They must have re-recorded them!" My wife thought I was nuts. Still does, but for different reasons. The thing of it is, the new recordings don't fit with the visuals. I can't explain it. It's not that they don't sync up or anything. It's like - you know you're seeing something that "analog", but you're not hearing something that's analog. It's rather jarring. -

Look, it was the 60's. There was alot of drugs going on then.
-
And he did ALOT of films that were just like "Really? Jerry? You scored THIS!?"
-
You have to remember, this movie is a comedy. You can't expect a "serious" JW score for a movie that didn't take itself seriously.
