  1. You know the one I mean. That part where it sounds like that channel just comes alive ALL OF A SUDDEN. That Jarring moment that completely takes you out of the flow of the music. It's on the Anthology and on the Special Editions. Such a beautiful swirling cue - that needs to be corrected. Who else hates it? (I'm sure this had to have been discussed before. Sorry if it has.)
  2. Any members in Canada find this anywhere today? My local HMV and Wal-Marts said it doesn't come out until next F*#@ing week.
  3. Absolutely. The writing was horrible. This was probably written by some teenager who never grew up with the original trilogy. They got lucky enough to see this early and instead of deciding to enjoy it, he already knew what he was going to write. This is someone who didn't want to like it. Or maybe he secretly did but he just wanted to be big man for a day and feel like a somebody by writing a crappy assessment. He knew it would be the talk of the day amongst fanboys. There was no reason for him to do this only to make himself seem important. If this was 1972 and someone wrote that "The Godfather" was a piece of crap, would we believe it? How about "2001", "Empire", "Schindler's List ("It was in Black & White, It was too slow, It was over 3 hours, not enough action.") This sounds very much to me like a person who has no love for film. If he did he would not have written this and sent it out to the world. Now Indy lovers are panicking worldwide because of this jerk. Many here have been waiting 19 years for this movie. I'm not going to let some whiner, or 2 or 3 stop me from enjoying every second I can of this Indiana Jones experience. Ask yourselves, "Have I been absolutely let down by an Indiana Jones film?" I'm sure overall the answer would be No. There might be little quibbles we may have regarding them (I have a few regarding last Crusade) but these movies have thrilled me more then any other I've seen. I have faith completely in Spielberg, Ford, Williams and yes, even George. If anybody doesn't at this point they should just go out and try to make their own Indiana Jones movie. See how that works out. I can't believe the fear this fool caused today. Just so he can feel important. I hate the internet sometimes.
  4. I've been listening to the TOD expanded score a few times over the past couple of weeks. And I noticed the music that is commonly referred to as Mola Ram's Theme usually plays over scenes involving or showing Pankot Palace, before we've even seen Mola Ram. I believe this theme can probably be called "Pankot Palace" theme. Remember the lovely version with the chimes that played just as Indiana & Co. Walk up to meet Chatter Lal. My guess is this represents Pankot and the evil of Pankot rather then a theme solely devoted to Mola Ram. My belief right now is that Mola Ram's theme is the "Mola Ram, Sula Ram" chant. Any thoughts?
  5. Toe. And that's it. Because I'm sure SOMEDAY they'll be here anyway.
  6. Now, if any one of us were to die for John Williams, we wouldn't get to here his future work.
  7. Listen to these three themes and tell me if you hear a distinct similarity: The Emperor's Theme Nuclear Man Theme Cinque's Theme.
  8. I don't know whose voice it was - but hearing the man behind the suit say it - you can tell from the voice inflictions - I'd say it was 100% him. He said the Phrase "As You Wish", "What If He doesn't survive.." "Put Captain Solo"... a few times. If my eyes were closed I wouldn't be able to tell if it was in person or if i was watching the movie. The Old, Old movie. Not Anything Pre 2004. Here is an autograph pic he signed for me and my little brother Justin: http://www.comfx.com/v.php?d=125200 I had brought my Empire DVD slipcover and my Empire 1997 SP Edition soundtrack booklet. Unfortunately he couldn't sign material brought in by fans. The hotel he was staying at had to fly him in and put him up. The pics were $20.00 each but he was so nice and gentlemanly I didn't mind. In person the man sounds exactly like Malcolm McDowell and appearance wise he resembles George Bush.
  9. Yes, I met Boba Fett himself today. I spoke with Jeremy for several minutes. He was a guest of honor at a local Sci-Fi convention held in NL, Canada this weekend. I first have to say Mr. Bulloch is a , kind and very witty gentleman. He was inviting to all fans that approached him and I had the great pleasure to spend a few minutes chatting with him. I first asked him how he was enjoying his visit - he remarked he was disappointed he never got to see any icebergs or whales (which in NL are known for). We talked a bit about Star Wars of course. I asked him how it felt to be on the receiving end of such adoration. He said it was something he never expected - to still 30 years later be embraced the way his character has been. He mentioned how he almost never got the part, how when filming with David Prowse all he could hear was muffled noises. How during the Carbon freeze sequence he stepped on David's cloak, almost causing poor David to fall in. He told of the day filming the scene where Han is loaded onto the Slave I. Bulloch accidentally said "Put Captain cargo in the Solo hold." It was his second day of filming and thought he was going to get fired because of that. We talked about critics and how they view the films and Bulloch told me that if you have different actors playing Henry V how they would critique one performance against the other. He mentioned how he liked that Boba was given a backstory in Episode II. He also said he has nothing to do with the upcoming "Clone Wars". With microphone in hand he got up and said the famous Boba Fett lines "What if he doesn't survive? He's worth a lot to me." It was exactly the same tone as was in "Empire". It was a little freaky hearing that from the man himself. Here's an amusing story he told about Lucas: About 17 years after "Jedi" Bulloch ran into Lucas in London. Bulloch said "George you don't look a day over 35." Pause for a second, "Well maybe 45." Apparently Lucas was not entirely amused. Nonetheless, Bulloch pronounced George a genius a few times today. I had my picture taken with him today and bought a pic where he autographed it and made it out to me and my little brother whom I took. It was great to meet the man himself - and yes it is Bulloch's voice in Empire. Not another actor dubbed which is what I thought it was all these years.
  10. So I guess we will get a Teaser preview by November or december. Or perhaps it will be like Spider-Man and we'll get one this summer: Green MPAA Banner: Paramount Screen, Lucasfilm Logo, Title: "In 1981 the World Was Introduced to a new Kind Of Hero - Next Summer - The Man With The Hat Is Back!", Full Blown INDY FANFARE Music, then "Whip Crack sound as "Indiana Jones And The _____" Flashes across the Screen. "Coming May __, 2008" I can almost see it now.
  11. Happy Xmas to you all. don't get stuck "Home Alone" because you can't stand to visit your "StepMom" who has a sister named "Sabrina" who has a daughter named "Penelope" who right now is "Lost In New York", probably still at 'The Terminal" because of something called a "Minority Report" screwing up the "Artificial Intelligence" system, while a boy runs around screaming "Catch Me If You Can" and his mom asks her birthday she replies she was "Born On The Fourth Of July" in "1941", 22 years before "JFK" was shot and 30 before "Nixon" was president, she tells another man she just spent "Seven Years In Tibet" and is carrying "Angela's Ashes" on a "Hook" back home for Christmas who was killed at 'Spacecamp" like a good "Patriot" ,while the local "Monsignor" who sailed down "The River" with a man dressed as "Dracula" with blood running across his "Jaws" because he bit "Superman" earlier, wishes her a Merry Xmas" "Always" she says.
  12. I just got it and have forgotten over the years about all the extra music Like When Joe Pesci leaves the house in his cop uniform, when Harry and marv are sitting in their van watching the lights go on, The first pronouncement of Marley's theme (Gong-Gong-Gong-Gong!), the little kid across the street bugging the driver as the McCalister's leave. We Need A 2 CD version Released! Hopefully it will also have Run, Run Rudolph and Brenda Lee's Rockin' Around the Christmas tree.
  13. Maybe I'm listening too hard or just imagining the same note stucture but I'm sure I can hear faint traces of The E.T. Keys Theme in "Emporer's Throne Room" around the 2:04 to the 2:22 mark. Anyone else notice it?
  14. It actually plays clear in my PC. Don't know. Maybe it's a bad lens in my CD Player. But I was worried for a bit. I could have bought a new one but this one has sentimental value.
  15. Will this be a book too? Like Scorsese on Scorsese or Lynch On Lynch. Those books are very candid as the filmaker's discuss in great detail their work, what they were going through personally at the time and how they see their films now. I think every major director should put such a book out.
  16. I have one...Isabel's Horse and buggy from Stepmom. The only track i can get into.
  17. Over the past 10 years Morricone has become my 2nd favorite composer. I love his famous Leone themes, but Once Upon A time In the West has to be one the best ever. I've been discovering great morricone scores over the past decade. Stuff like, Lady Caliph, 1900, and Days Of Heaven. I really love his 90's work like Cinema Paradiso, Wolf, Love Affair and Lolita and Bulworth. Especially Love Affair which contains a great score to a poor movie.
  18. It's what you might call a litle "Scuffed" but it's not scratched.
  19. What happned. I listned to it last year with no problem. Now tracks 10 to 18 sound like they're being played on record. This sucks! Is it old age? This is the first John Williams CD I ever bought in Jan. 1991. Also I bought Always and Presumed Innocent during that time period. Can it be repaired? Please Help.
  20. Sorry if this has been discussed before. Been away for a while. So, i've wondered for years if R2 and 3-PO have their own themes. The best i can determine (or at least what I personally think) is R2's theme is that piece of music in "Empire" when he falls into the swamp and he's swimming around, and again when the swamp creature sends him flying. I've imagined Threepio's theme to be that short flute arrangement during the droids intro in "Jedi" - right after the huge vader fanfare. Thoughts?
  21. The new Dakota Fanning movie preview for "Charlotte's Web" contains music from "The Land Rush" - specifically one section of music which is looped again and again perhaps four times in a row. I was excited for a second as I thought we'd get a new JW score this year - until I saw Danny Elfman's name in the credits.
  22. Why, that's Gordon Willis - or The 'Prince Of Darkness' as they call him. Wait -- has this been answered already? Crap!!!
  23. You can probably access it by using a program called ISObuster but the CD required me to install a ten year old version of quicktime over my current one and I wouldn't do that.
  24. One wonders what he would have done with/to Apocalypse Now.
  25. He Became a bad director. American Graffitti is a Great piece of directing. Well it is.
