  1. I liked it a lot. I rarely rewatch movies these days, but I did see this three times in theaters. The third time was maybe a bit much, so I'm going to put it in the vault for a while until close to Episode VIII's release. The special features on the Blu-ray are unfortunately all fluff, and the deleted scenes are too short to be of any consequence. Honestly, if your purchase of the Blu-ray hinges on the quality of the special features, maybe hold off until the price drops a bit
  2. I think the scores will age very well, but (while some of you may not) I also think that Shore stuck the landing on this one - at least as much as Jackson's film would allow.
  3. It is completely legal to listen to these illegal stolen files on YouTube, I assure you!
  4. The movie tends to lose me a bit starting with Dagobah until the point when the (long) final battle starts. I think the last two times I saw the movie, I drifted off a bit in that section. So a really good chunk of the movie. And then the fun battle and the excellent Vader/Emperor/Skywalker ending make up for it, for the most part.
  5. I want to see the movies on the big screen with an audience again (I haven't watched them since the Blu-rays came out about five years ago, so it's been a while). I'm not going to make a special trip out of town to do it, but I'd do it in a heartbeat if they did a rerelease. Heck, I went to see the 3D rerelease of The Phantom Menace when that came out.
  6. There's as much a point as the original Star Wars, or any other movie, really.
  7. His back is more interesting than his front.
  8. I have no doubt that Disney will be able to release the original OT with an excellent picture quality, regardless of the source. When, or if, they will, is another question. There might be a hangup with 20th Century Fox (who owns distribution rights in perp to Star Wars). For all we know, Lucas built something into the deal that his special editions were the "true" Star Wars, and that the original versions should not be released.
  9. No - there were HD versions remastered for TV viewings of the 2004 DVD cuts, and then the Blu-rays were all new cuts.
  10. Every article I've seen has stated "1997 special edition." Either way, they'll be packed full of poor CGI. At least Empire is relatively intact.

  12. The "Noooooooo" was added for the 2011 Blu Rays, so if this is the 1997 cut that will not be in there.
  13. Since JEJ already deigned to voice Vader a number of times on Star Wars Rebels, I'm sure the meatier paycheck of a major motion picture would appeal to him.
  14. It's not too big of a surprise, given Portman's dissatisfaction with how things went behind the scenes on Thor 2, but still a bummer.
  15. The moment you hear those engines roaring in space in the first seconds of Star Wars, our rules are thrown out the window.
  16. Maybe Desplat heard that I thought his music was boring, so he graciously stepped aside.
  17. I hated 10,000 B.C. and probably would count it as one of the worst movies I've seen, if I have to make a list. My wife liked it enough to buy the DVD.
