  1. I simply could not imagine a better way to mark the start of J.W.'s 80th year on Planet Earth. A masterful score, from a man at the very top of his game. I hear he plays a mean game of strip poker.
  2. You do that and you'll never eat another pork rib again
  3. Playing "Titanic" in a tribute to John Williams who passed away in my memory early this morning. everything James Horner. Ah ok then...."The Accidental Tourist"
  4. From the Varese Sarabande website: January 30, 2011 JOHN BARRY (1933 - 2011) "We are heartbroken to announce the unspeakably sad news of John Barry's passing. One of film music's heroic legends, John Barry had an utterly unique and irreplaceable voice that personified great and memorable film music. I remember recording Out of Africa with Joel McNeely and the RSNO in 1997. Jerry Goldsmith happened to be in the booth, reading Barry's score while we were recording the main title. When the orchestra finished, Jerry looked up from the page and said, with great admiration, "He really can write a tune!" We all have our favorite John Barry themes and scores, followed by another and another. For me, perhaps Chaplin (1992). But that's one of many, and they will play forever." Out of Africa - John Barry (cond. McNeely)
  5. The greatest ever travesty was that he never became Sir John Barry. People have gotten knighthoods for less.
  6. The only composer to score an "X" rated movie that won the Best Picture Oscar (Midnight Cowboy).
  7. The legend of John Barry will never die. His music shall live on in our hearts forever. John, it was pleasure seeing you conduct the Goldfinger theme and We have all the time in the World theme in Dublin 2 years ago. For us film score fanatics...John...WE have all the time in the world for your music. You will be sorely missed in the film music world and your 5 Oscars are a testament to your outstanding contribution to the medium. If I have to play one Barry track today, I will make it the theme from "Out of Africa"...a score and movie that I adore and love so much. R.I.P. John Barry.
  8. Michael Cappuccino is on the left. Don't know who the other 2 beasties are.
  9. Octopussy! I so want a complete "Octopussy" and "A View to a Kill" scores. Maybe next year for Bond's 50th birthday.
  10. I'm enjoying THE CAPE. I first thought it was a travel programme about South Africa. I was so disappointed.
  11. That Vulcan neck pinch doesn't even work. Cappuccino: "You can get off my Oscar now. It's not an enema device." Chewie: "If I squeeze you like this, you might be able to sing in B-flat. Oh wait, that's your chest size."
  12. I'm reading a book about myself. It's all lies. I never called Tippi Hedren "a bitch-whipping whore".
  13. What about 1997??? LA Confidential, TITANIC.....
  14. I can't help it if my daughter was saved by Kirk. I told him not to but he found out she'd taken tranquilizers. THE ACCIDENTAL TOURIST. It ain't INDIANA JONES & THE TEMPLE OF DOOM. Minus 90 out of 10. THE ACCIDENTAL TOURIST is the gemstone in John Williams' bellybutton. Precious and full of fluff.
  15. I miss Kasdan as writer and director of the big screen. Although his son Jake is doing quite well. I loved his ORANGE COUNTY movie.

  17. I can't help it if my daughter was saved by Kirk. I told him not to but he found out she'd taken tranquilizers.
  18. I enjoyed WAR & PEACE. My left arm was been numb for several years. Dr McCoy thought I was overdoing the hand jobs on the anamorphic lenses.
  19. "Jaws" at the age of 3?! It's a wonder you weren't traumatized. He was, Richard but fate played its cruel hand that night.
  20. I was on television while you were still a sperm in your daddy's loins.
  21. I just wish Kevin O'Connell would win his very long overdue Oscar.
  22. There is nothing pseudo about it. Just because it was used by Nazi scientists is no reason to discredit it! Thank you for that observation, Dr Mengele
