nightscape94 965
It's about that time, when most of the movies that had limited releases in 2006 are now spilling over into wider releases in 2007, and I've just about seen all the movies I can. I have yet to see The Queen, Babel or The Last King of Scotland, but I plan on seeing them all this week. Here is my current Top 10 List for 2006, pending my viewing of the rest of the films.10. Little Miss Sunshine9. The Fountain8. Brick7. The Proposition6. Volver5. Apocolypto4. The Departed3. United 932. Pan's Labyrinth1. Children of MenWhat do you have?Tim
Morlock 11
Too many films I haven't seen to make a list. I have a feeling that the yet unseen The Queen, Pan's Labrynth and Letters from Iwo Jima will figure heavily on any list. But I do like your list. Numbers 10, 5, 4, 3 would be on my list, and I liked numbers 1, 6 and 8 a great deal. Haven't seen numbers 2, 7 or 9 yet.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,282
Interesting that most people are talking about Letters From Iwo Jima now and that Flag Of Our Fathers has already been kinda forgotten.I have not seen enough 2006 films to make a list. futuremartymcfly 0
Seen way too few films to make a list. The only films I thought were really good that I've seen so far, have been Children of Men, Stranger then Fiction, and The Illusionist. Children of Men is the only R-rated film I've seen this year. nightscape94 965
I've seen about 40 films, not all in the theater. Some I caught once they were released to DVD, but all of them are films considered for 2006. And I still have about 4 films (I forgot about Letters from Iwo Jima) to see that will probably alter my list.Tim

Mr. Breathmask 555
I've seen probably about 15 films that came out last year, but not all of the films that have had great critical praise, especially the ones released in the fall.

Red 75
I think that last year was a good one for movies, particulary movies that out after the Summer.
robthehand 3
There were a few good times last year - but most of the hyped films (Da Vinci Code, M:I-III, Pirates 2, etc.) were disappointing. Casino Royale was the only "blockbuster" that I really liked last year. The Misfits Theme (Alex North), a.k.a. Theme from The Naked Gun
Joni Wiljami 1,206
I saw only Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest and wonder why. There is only one I really liked to see : Pan's Labyrinth
nightscape94 965
Well, I don't have to worry about Babel making my list! I thought it was going to be a hot contender given the amount of coverage and various accolades, but I only give it **1/2 out of ****. It felt like there was a good movie hidden there somewhere, but they forgot to film it.Tim

Ollie 1,069
Ticket prices are $7.00 at the theatre in town, $4.50 for any shows before 5:00 pm. I don't really like going to early shows plus there are less annoying kids and babies at the later ones too. Now throw in popcorn and sodas for me, my wife and 2 kids, we are looking at almost $50.00. My wife and I do get away for a date night where's it's just the 2 of us but most of the time we like to go as a family. There are some films worth seeing on the big screen but I prefer to wait for the DVD because I can buy or rent it for a much cheaper price and watch it on my home theatre system and widescreen TV. Plus the popcorn and sodas are cheaper.Although I still have to listen to cell phones ringing......
nightscape94 965
I had to update given the great theater experience I received with The Queen. I had to kiss The Fountain goodbye.10. Little Miss Sunshine9. Brick8. The Queen7. The Proposition6. Volver5. Apocolypto4. The Departed3. United 932. Pan's Labyrinth1. Children of MenAlso, in respects to ticket prices, it's really insane. Afternoon shows, which boasts cheaper ticket prices, are still $7.50. It goes over $9 for show times starting after 6pm. That's for big chain theaters like Regal or AMC, generally, and I was surprised that fancy arthouse theaters such as The Ritz, in the city of Philadelphia, sell less expensive tickets.Tim
Admiral Holdo 16
1. Superman Returns - even with my bias towards Brandon Routh, he's a great Superman and this is a great movie..2. Rocky Balboa3. Casino Royale4. Apocolypto5. X-Men - The Last Stand6. Dead Man's Chest7. The Black DahliaAnd those are the only ones I liked from this year. Morlock 11
The Black Dahlia? Really? Morlock- who would single that out as the single worst film he's seen from 2006
nightscape94 965
I wouldn't say it was the worst of the year, definitely close, but it was more like the biggest let down and disappointment given what it could have been. To me, it was just a poor screenplay, no two ways about it. The last twenty minutes or so were completely laughable. Actually, maybe it was the worst. The more I think about it, the more annoyed I get. Tim
Genius_Gone_Insane 5
Holy f*kn cr@p, I just saw Pan's Labyrinth for the 1st time Saturday night! What an incredible film! My life is forever changed! Clearly the best film of 2006!
Morlock 11
Looking back, The Lives of Others is by far my favorite film of 06'. Pan's Labrynth ain't too shabby, of course. The Queen is definitly up there. The Departed I'm a bit conflicted about...but it's up there. Either way, the year doesn't compare to it's successor. A24 4,378
There's much praise about Children Of Men and Pan's Labyrint. Coincidence or not, but these happen to be two movies that disappointed me the most. Add to that The Fountain, United 93, Flag Of Our Fathers, X-Men 3 and Superman Returns and 2006 seems to be a year of disappointments.Better than expected (I admit, my expectations were low): Casino Royale, Lady In The Water. My personal favorites are The Prestige, Hollywoodland, Little Children. Not yet seen: The Queen, Inland Empire.Alex
