ET and Elliot flying past the moon is an amazing (or magical) Spielberg moment. That woman being shot in the neck isn't amazing. Its just very good.

No. That is just silly. Even as a kid i thought 'what the hell is the fake moon doing there'?

The moment he said "I want John Williams to score The Sugarland Express"

How history would have changed if Steven Spielberg asked someone else....

He tossed a coin, it is said...

It's longed been rumored to have come down to a "coin flip" between Williams and Goldsmith.....

One moment I love is Brody's reaction when Alex Kintner is killed in Jaws. The Mother ship's first appearance in CE3K is another special moment.

Ah one of the best indeed. I get a similar feeling as Jones pours the holy water onto his dad's bullet wound. Williams scores it so beautifully; it's like we are witnessing a miracle.

It's Scouse for Steef. Or it is at least as far as I'm concerned. Pronounced Stee - short for Steven (which isn't your name, but).

If you hate it I'll refrain, but honestly, its the norm in England.

Who says I have to have a point? I didn't, as it happens. Read it fool!

But since you felt so inclined: How is it nowadays? Being a resident of a country nobody really cares about, I mean. God forbid anyone naming your little geological dot properly.

I don't know why, but for me it is in Raiders of the Lost Ark -

after Indy was in the Maproom,

when he is doing his hidden/secret fieldresearch and searches for the spot to dig.

just indy in disguise,

some noise from the dig,

and the Ark Theme, played misterioso in the flutes

building to the first hit of the sand ground with the shovel, by indy.

and then, beautiful sunset shot, while the workers sing..

my favourite part of that film!

There is no more respect for Message Board elders.

So sad.

you have to face it. your time is over.

John Williams actionmusic isn't hummable anymore, nor is it interesting -let it go.. just let it go... yes, attaboy!

Anyone else obsess how JW's name is framed and photographed in his greatest scored movies? I've even been known to pause stuff.

Yes really great and moody.

I remember, it was a sunday night and Jaws was on TV. I didn't know the film before, but the LP. I always wanted to watch it. But it was to late and I had to go to school the next day, so I just wantzed to watch 5 minutes of it, but I ended up watching the whole movie, I didn't realize how late it got,

this movie is

Movie magic from beginning to end!!

So how about the Spielberg Movie Magic Scenes?

I love the "City Under Ice Scene" from AI

just ice and a wordless pp choir!

That is a pretty great moment, it's one of the my favorite bits from the score.

Ha, music to my ears!

My mother sat me and my brother down long time ago to watch 'a scary film about a shark'.

I thanked her last year, at New Year. My mum is GREAT! She's even more fussy about movies than I am.
