King Mark 3,631
I finished Dishonored (on high chaos)It was a good but not amazing game. It was kind of short too. Most of my deaths were caused by tripping up in the controls (having the wrong weapon/power equipped).I don't feel like playing a second time to get a better ending or getting and DLC's for it thoughOh and I got a glitch in the game...at he very last scene! The final main quest marker wouldn't activate because I killed the bad guy in a way I wasn't supposed to (I shot him from far away while climbing the stairs) . Lucky there was a second Auto-Save 10 minutes earlierWell it seems to have happened to one other guy on the planet....
Quintus 5,399
Yeah I give it 8/10. Definitely not GOTY material.I'm still well and truly hooked on Chivalry Medieval Warfare here, which is basically Battlefield set 600 years ago. The thing has earned itself a substantially active and loyal community, so I foresee a spruced up full console release in the next year or so. King Mark 3,631
what the fuck is Ouya, I don;t understand how it works. apparently most of the people that bought it toohttp://www.tomsguide.com/us/Ouya-Owners-Purchased-Games,news-17212.html
Marian Schedenig 8,239
What's not to understand? It works like any other console. Only it's new, the firmware is still in need of feature upgrades, and while there are already lots of games (more than you'd probably have access to at the launch date of your next gen console), most of them still suck. The big question is whether there will be enough good games in time before people lose interest. As it stands, OUYA is the only console where you can play Nintendo, C64, Amiga, MAME etc. games through emulators. It could also be a promising media box once a stable XBMC is released for it, depending on whether they can solve the remaining hardware/driver issues. No, it's not a great gaming experience at this point aside from emulators (which is already a major plus). But whoever says it's sucks because of that is missing the point. Sadly, there's a lot of these people, generating bad word of mouth, which might indeed contribute to killing the console before it has enough good games. I'm still keeping my hopes up. Quintus 5,399
I just can't see why anyone would want to spend time playing games which are designed to be played on the bog blown up to full screen on their 42" plasmas.
Marian Schedenig 8,239
This still seems to be mostly a misunderstanding. Yes, OUYA is Android based. As far as I know, the X-Box is Windows based (if not, substitute "X-Box" by "PC" in my following statement). Windows was originally conceived for, what, 15" screens with 640x480 resolutions? And yet it's now used to play games on huge screens. Most Android games so far have been touch games for small screens. Why? Because most Android devices so far have been devices with small touch screens. That's also the reason why of the over 100 games already on the OUYA, few are good, because most are just ports of small touch screen games. But Android as an operating system is perfectly capable of working with 1080p resolutions and any kind of USB input device. In fact, because of the average quality of the original OUYA gamepad, many people are now using it with PS3 controllers. Also, the game I've been writing myself on and off for far too long worked out of the box on OUYA - including gamepad support, which I'd never implemented (I had added cursor key support for tablet devices, and the gamepad automatically maps to that). Sadly, "it sucks because there are no good games" (hasn't the same been said about several Nintendo devices in the past, and I believe the PS Vita?) and "it's just a large smartphone" (well, a smartphone is just a small computer, so your PS3 is also just a large smartphone without a touchscreen) are what's probably hurting OUYA most these days. The real reasons that should be troubling OUYA are others: - Substandard hardware. Well, obviously. Nobody could afford to build a next generation indie console and take on the big players at this point. Keeping it cheap was the correct way to go, and since OUYA mostly targets people like me, who are fed up with the current "the same 3D games over and over again but with better visuals" mentality (which I trace back to the original Doom), the hardware should be good enough. But it generates bad word of mouth by people who want it to compete with PS3 and X-Box. - Lousy controller. Sadly, the standard controller really isn't that good. It's ok, but the PS3 controller works better. Again generates bad word of mouth, and makes a poor first impression. - Firmware issues. WIFI seems to be not too good, and the firmware is still missing some important features (like friend and chat functions and a multiplayer framework). It's a brand new system, so obviously these things take time, but again people get itchy and might write the console off before it ever truly gets going. - Lack of exclusive titles. Apparently, many people cry for exclusive games to make OUYA more appealing. And that certainly is what drives many of the PS3 and X-Box sales - most importantly in situations where people really buy both consoles. But OUYA is mostly targeted by small and independent developers, who not only cannot afford to limit themselves to just one device (and a new one still trying to get its footing, too) but also are the very people who believe in cross platform gaming. The OUYA's main target audience are probably exactly those of us who think that games should never be exclusive to any single platform. Small developers often won't have the resources to target Sony's and Microsoft's consoles (that's what prompted the need for an "open" console in the first place), but they'll still target Windows, Linux and Apple platforms as well. So gamers will still face the choice whether to get a game for their desktop system or their OUYA. OUYA's biggest hope at this point may be all those Kickstarter funded games currently in development. Many of them have potential, and many will be released for multiple platforms, including the OUYA. Only most of them are still months away from a release date. King Mark 3,631
Well it seems like "Buy now and maybe it'll be awesome later" .Seems like a leap of faith. And if the games are designed with portable device graphics in mind I don't think I'll take off.Changing topics, looking at the Dishonored review on GameSpot, there's a lot of things I didn't think of doing with my powers (like stopping time to place bombs and the likes), or listening to everyone's secrets with the heart.Maybe I played it too straightforward. Koray Savas 2,251
I played the game both ways. Silent and non-lethal with low chaos, and then all out with high chaos. Quintus 5,399
After putting 70+ hours into Skyrim on the Xbox I never did finish it and eventually moved onto something else. Anyway I thought sod it and bought the PC version for £5.99. Spent the last couple of evenings modding the shit out of it; HD texture upgrades, lighting overhauls, enhanced flora, redone NPCs, realistic blood and magic decals, realistic water, dynamic skyboxes etc etc.Game: TRANSFORMED. Wow! I didn't think it was possible to accomplish such a vast upgrade in visuals. It's basically turned it into next gen Elder Scrolls. Haven't even added any gameplay enhancing mods yet.Now to begin the quest again tonight, but progress is gonna be slow due to my eyes weeping in awe at every turn! Decided to skip the silly bikini mod, but you get the idea with the visuals. Who runs around the wilderness dressed like a fuckin' porn star anyway? Koray Savas 2,251
Perhaps. There's no doubt that 7 years of competition helped shape what the PS4 will ultimately be come on release date. Sales performances are still up in the air. As clear cut as it seems you never know which way things will go once they're on store shelves. Like the video explains, Microsoft kinda put the secondary market as the main audience for the console, while failing to realize that the "softcore" gamers won't drop $500+ for a brand new system from the start. If other home media facets are anything to go by, new technology takes time to be adopted into the average household.

Quintus 5,399
I was really hung up on the sluggish movement and input lag unfortunately. Quintus 5,399
Because single player isn't competitive.I can see the potential for a good multiplayer in there, but for me to stick around it needed to have much tighter control.
Koray Savas 2,251
I guess I just don't make the same distinction, or rather, don't forgive it in one aspect of the game but not the other. The controls are sluggish, but that doesn't really effect the way the multiplayer is set up and the mechanics of it. It's refreshing to play regardless, for me. Koray Savas 2,251
Sometimes I want a gaming PC just for Bethesda games, but I'm just too attached to the console set up. I loved Skyrim on PS3, never had the myriad of problems that other players supposedly did. The occasional glitch and freeze, which was expected. After the DLC though it got a lot worse, which has been a recurring case for all their games. I bought all the add-ons but my game would freeze around every 10 minutes. I just gave up. I still was never able to finish the last DLC for New Vegas because that game is literally broken. Utterly unplayable, I'd spend 20 minutes just trying to not lock up my system, moving at half a frame per second, desperately trying to fast travel somewhere so the game could reload and hopefully be fine. I never got there.
