James 119
You do not have to go that far to find pieces like these: "Yes!!! John Williams ripped off Holst and made big $$$ doing it. I wish Holst were around to get a huge piece of that action or at least to have left Williams laying prone in a puddle of his own blood." "John Williams is a plagiarist." "how to write like John Williams: steal stuff from any good composer from the romantic period to the Soviet era." "How to write like John Williams: Steal his score sheet and run like hell!" They are all in the videos of Beato. The best was about one guy saying that the 10 minutes of Beato video about Williams had much more content than the course of U$100 taught by Hans Zimmer. But unfortunately, I lost when I closed the window for the video. Jurassic Shark
gkgyver 1,645
I vaguely remember an anecdote Spielberg told about Schindler's List ... have to google it, though. Something about Williams being dead. Once and Gruesome Son of a Bitch 1
Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,488
Hell, the quote in the other thread where the guy was supposedly complimenting Williams was just basically saying the CMIYC score was forgettable aside from the main title. Did he hear Recollections? Idiot. Jurassic Shark and Once

When I was in college I got my music professor to put the kibosh on a proposed presentation by a fellow student that had that exact title. Good times. Well, there's the anecdote of Williams himself! (Someone posted this video recently and I've watched it several times. This is good for health). 3:35 Jurassic Shark
Jurassic Shark 12,091
Great speach. And he confirms that Leia's theme was the first love theme of the SW saga. James
aviazn 273
Posted this in another thread, but still makes me lol. Popular Post John 2,032
All are comments found in a Reddit thread titled "Hans Zimmer vs John Williams". Quote Zimmer. He hits it out of the park far more consistently. Though Williams has managed to create quite a few memorable tracks, I felt they were far more spaced out Quote Easily Zimmer. His music contains so much emotion and depth that just keeps you in awe. John Williams is good, but I feel like it's just the nostalgia that make a lot of you think he's better than Zimmer. Quote Williams is good, but I don't think his soundtrack has ever elevated a movie to a whole other level like the soundtrack of Interstellar did Brundlefly, Bayesian, Holko and 2 others 1
