"Wonka" Score by Joby Talbot & Neil Hannon

I agree! Songs are great, especially A World Of Your Own. Both music lyrics and the accompanied scene are pretty magical.

And I love how Talbot incorporates the melodies of the songs as actual themes and motifs. I feel that in musicals that really should be the way, and unfortunately since the Disney Renaissance this doesn't really hapoen anymore.

So I was overjoyed to hear it down so well here. One of my favorite film related albums of the year!

Hannon and Talbot (and writer/director Paul King) were on Edith Bowman's Soundtracking podcast recently. I haven't listened beyond what was in that episode, but the Bricusse/Newley Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory score is a childhood favourite and I'm glad it's referenced.

And they shouldn't have eliminated the dialogue in the Oompa Loompa song. Expansion, please!

Which version do you mean?
