T'was a good good Christmas. A couple of items.

The Office - Series 1 and 2 (Brilliant Stuff of course)

Star Trek III - The Search For Sponk (2 Discer)

...and of course a gorgeous internal frame, day and a half backpack for CAP. But you all wouldn't be interested in that. :ola:

Happy New Year everyone.

I'm usually not hot on new year's resolutions, but these are mine for this year:

1. Donate to Andreas

2. Get a widescreen TV :ola:

- Marc, who was going to post a new year's toast picture, but has yet to succeed in making a picture where he's not looking like a jackass. ;)

The only pic I've seen of you Marc was your celebration of the arrival of your The Fury CD. It was...an interesting experience. ;)

John- not sure which thread it's in otherwise he'd dig it up.

John2- still a good 4 hours away from 2005.

You are referring to this picture I assume:

DCP_2300.jpg

Although I've posted others. this one in the "face to the name" thread, and a small version of this was my avatar for a very short period, until Steef made a remark I copied him, and I took it down. Steef doesn't need to think I imitate him. His head's big enough already. :ola:;)

Come to think of it, I look like a jackass in all of those pictures. But I'm a nice person, really! :ola:

I think the day I'll open this website and I see in the news section that "the next JW release will be the the long-awaited complete 2 CD-set of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" I will faint. :ola:

When I found the Japanese release of the ToD OST in NYC, I almost had an infarct!! ;)

The Year of the last Williams StarWars score is upon us.

One of my friends said we should toast in the new year since mercifully it will be the last year for a new Star Wars movie.

Neil - watching The Twilight Zone, a real new years tradition!

I was cleaning out my email inbox when I came upon an old email from last year

***TOP 10 REASONS TO VISIT THE JOHN WILLIAMS FAN NETWORK DURING 2004***

10) Our 5th ANNIVERSARY

On February 5, 2004 we celebrate the 5th anniversary of the site, created in Feb

5, 1999 as a source of information on the then still upcoming score for STAR

WARS: EPISODE I - THE PHANTOM MENACE, and later expanded to a general John

Williams site reporting the latest news on the Maestro on an almost daily basis.

Next month we'll celebrate this event with a special article presenting a

chronology of the site and the main happenings of this first five-year period.

9) JWFAN.NET 2.0

During 2004 (hopefully before spring) visitors will notice big improvements in

the website, both structurally and aesthetically, as a new version of the

software the site is based on will be implemented by our System Administrator

Andreas Westphal - the Man who bears the expenses of the whole JW-Music Network

(something for which we should be extremely thankful!)

8) POSSIBLE NEW RELEASES of Classic Scores and/or Concert Works

Although nothing has been announced regarding new releases of classic Williams

scores during 2004, who knows if unreleased gems such as FAMILY PLOT (of which

not even a bootleg exists), BLACK SUNDAY or MONSIGNOR, or perhaps some concert

works like the recent SOUNDINGS or the CONCERTO FOR HORN AND ORCHESTRA will see

the light this year?

7) THE TERMINAL

Williams will shortly begin working on the score to the new Steven Spielberg

film, which is currently entering its post-production phase. We can expect a CD

release of the new Williams/Spielberg collaboration in early June...

6) HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN

A generous selection of the score from HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN

(from which we've already heard one theme in the film's trailer) will be

released on CD in May -less than five months from now!

5) A possible announcement of a NEW JOHN WILLIAMS WORK for this year?

With six months between the recording of THE TERMINAL and the scoring of EPISODE

III, there is enough time for another Williams work. Well, at least we know it

may happen!

4) Williams Starts Scoring EPISODE III

2004 will also be the year in which Williams starts scoring the last installment

in the STAR WARS saga. It's been officially confirmed that the Maestro will

begin writing the score to STAR WARS: EPISODE III this fall, recording sessions

taking place in February, 2005...

3) Williams Starts Working on INDIANA JONES IV

By the end of the year, Williams will probably start penning ideas for his other

big score of 2005: the long awaited return of INDIANA JONES!

2) A Possible Announcement of the Complete INDIANA JONES Scores

We *might* expect an announcement to take place somewhere during the second half

of this year concerning the *possible* official release of the complete INDIANA

JONES in 2005 -coinciding with the release of the fourth Indy movie. But again,

this is only speculation -only time will tell!

And the number 1 reason for visiting JWFAN in 2004 is...

1) Our MESSAGE BOARDS!

Over the last few months, the JWFAN MESSAGE BOARDS have become more popular,

more entertaining and more enriching than ever, thanks in no small part to the

superb work of our Moderator, Neil S. Bulk, and the invaluable contribution of

the members of our website (over 700 as we speak!). We strongly recommend you to

visit our boards on a regular basis if you don't want to miss a thing!

Thanks for being part of this great community. See you on the site!

I'd forgotten about the 5th anniversary of the site, good times good times

Max

I can't to that page neither, Marc. I have this problem since the site is on the new server.

Who's those in the photo?

I only recognise Neil and diskobolus. Is that girl Renovia?

Sorry for the stupid question but I can't see the photo thread!

You should put the photo here, Steef.

Oh, I guess you missed last year's pic.

Last year, AI photoshopped a composite of many pictures into one large pic of a New Year's party. I'm trying to do the same this year. That's who I've got in the composite so far.

Maybe it would be cool to have it posted here...

BTW, I remember someone here called Artificial Intelligence, but there isn't in the Memberlist page.

There's also someone called AI, but he's got 0 posts.

What's the story behind this?! :?

And why are we going so off-topic?!? :P

Ok, this isn't a problem, since we're already in the new year!
