Just listened to this too.
While Sarde isn't great in my book like let's say John Williams, with easily recognizable melodies, he never fails to deliver good music.

Explorers is probably my favorite, start to finish.  Breezy, wistful, soulful, quirky, brave, silly, sentimental.  So much heart in the music for Explorers. I just adore it. 

First masterpiece: Daddy-O

After Towering Inferno, John Williams changed for the worse. He was never the same after that, in my opinion. It seems that once he reached his mid-40’s and entered middle age, he lost the energy and vigor of his youth that had made his music so special.

It’s Barry. I mean, you know mostly what you’re getting, but this one has great themes and superb arrangements.   If you like Barry, I highly recommend it.  Part of why you might not remember it in the film is some of it was rescored by Sylvester Levay. And then there were the Cherry Bomb pop songs. So it may have been easy to miss the entirety of what Barry delivered, but given this presentation with all the alternates, I’d say he gave it his all.

- Theme was probably the first cue written, perhaps even as a demo. The sketch was written a bit hurriedly, without specifying the tempo and, for example, specifying the synth timbre: "synth (later)".

THE MUMMY is a fantastic flick. Better, and certainly more fun, than the last two Indiana Jones movies.

I don't know if anyone grew up with this series but this was one of my most wanted TV animation soundtracks.
Alas, the 17 minutes of this release don't include all the music cues that I remembered from the show (I just browsed the first episode to confirm that there was other music indeed too).
Neumation says this must be a teaser. I hope so!

I used to love the score to TITANIC, but in later years I realized that it's not even among the best Horner scores. (in my opinion, that is , of course).

I don’t agree with you there. It’s both an amazing film and score. Agree with everything else.

I agree with your assessment. I'm not familiar at all with Donaggio, but this was impressive indeed.

Are these Dragon scores that good?
I tried to listen to the first one, but I found it too bombastic for my ears, as I find most of Powell's music.
I found it curious that all three of them were also released as sheet music books from Omni Music.

This is a great one. Big, bold and religoso, with choir and operatic solo voices, among other things. True, some of those "contemporary ostinati" here and there aren't that interesting, but for the most part a very impressive work by Mr. Donaggio in the latter part of his career. (Sorry I didn't mention to it to you before, filmmusic, but I only just discovered it myself as I'm trying to build my Donaggio collection a little bit).

We will never publish transcriptions, an original manuscript is a requirement for all of our publications. 
 
The Nic Raine transcription is more of a reimagining of the score than it is an accurate representation of what Barry actually wrote.
