Luka 242
It seems that the links for it don't work anymore Is there any place else to listen / download the FYC Rogue One album? Tiburon
Popular Post The Illustrious Jerry 3,356
The Rogue One FYC did a lot to add to my liking of the score. While it may be unpopular simply because it's lackluster compared to Williams work, I still love it and enjoy to listen to it. In terms of the FYC adding on brilliantly to the already pretty good OST, An Imperial Test of Power and Approach to Eadu are so great and magical, especially the latter. They were actually the music I remember most from watching the film, and was surprised when they were not on the OST, especially the Death of Saw portion. No Trust Among Rebels and Jyn's Path Is Clear add to the mission on Eadu, before the Confrontation on Eadu. Good Luck Little Sister is another part of score that stood out to me in the movie, as the rebels sneak off Cargo Shuttle SW-0608 and prepare for a daring and hopeful attack. The tone is tense and sneaky, with some blips and pizzicato to carry us along the undercover mission. Are We Blind? is a hilarious title, and the timpani as the explosions become visible from the command deck are perfect, beckoning to Prokofiev's association with the percussion and gunfire in his symphonic story Peter and the Wolf. Project Stardust and Entering the Imperial Archives are like earlier mentioned tracks, adding to the mission, which is now on Scarif Base after the Death Star plans. Get That Beach Under Control has a great use of the Imperial Suite theme for the film, as the deathtroopers (who I actually believe to have a very, very small twice recurring melodic idea) jump onto the beach. We Have To Press The Attack is the great space battle action music, brass full force and shining, and of course Guardians of the Whills on moving strings for Baze's demise.. Just some thoughts. Kasey Kockroach 2,345
Whether or not it's a great or terrible score is not a subject that compels me, rather I found it a much needed new taste sensation before Powell's Solo came along. Is Rogue One great? I don't know, but it was something different after The Force Puts Me to Sleep! Giacchino trying/failing is of greater enjoyment than Williams being bored. The Illustrious Jerry 3,356
I wish it could be possibly even more complete, even though the FYC did a wonderful job adding to the OST. There's still a lot of stand out moments in the score without official release, which is a shame because I can think of many highlights. The action cues in Rogue One are the stars of the score. Everything from Rogue One on the OST through the FYC and OST combo edit is top notch. The first half of the score is notably weaker, but has many gems and is quite consistent. TFA felt like Williams was bored to you? I didn't get any of that sense till TLJ. I mean, TFA ain't the best Star Wars score, but it does introduce some pretty fantastic new themes - especially Rey's. Yavar Moradi

The Dark Trilogy 39
I pop this thread up with a question: Does anyone own that promo on CD? I asked this because I saw a few ebay auctions back in the day and one of them claims it is a CD-R. Just want to know if it is true (you can look at the backside of CD).
