NEW Score podcast. David W Collins is back!

Recommended Posts

You've been negligent!

Having listened to the interview, I wonder if, given Collins' audience, it's a bit too in the weeds.  Like maybe they should've stepped back further to explain to people, like, the difference between the recording sessions and the music stem of the audio mix, etc.  Really explain the film music process for laypeople and how you get from those elements to the album bought by them.

He’s doing a music of the Phantom Menace panel at Celebration in April

Well, that would be an opportune time to announce an expansion...

The Wagner episode was a disappointment.  It was unfocused and spent too much time just summarizing the plots of operas instead of zeroing in on specific leitmotif examples to illustrate why it was so influential on film scoring.

Looking forward to the LOTR episodes, though.

I really like this show, and I'm very interested to hear how he breaks this score down.

hoping he gets Doug Adams for a guest spot at some point, too.

David reveals in the podcast that Doug will be on a future episode! :)

Anyone else having issues getting the podcast to start playing?

I usually just go into the page's code and download the episode to my phone.
