I don't know why people think there will be isolated scores with these movies. No movies produced by Lucasfilm has ever had isolated scores for any type of release.

We can only hope that in a few years Lucasfilm lets La-La Land or Intrada release the complete versions for ROTLA, TOD and TLC.

I don't blame you. I've only replaced a few of my DVDs - the leap in image quality can very drastically, and I'm very happy with my DVDs of many films.

I didn't buy the Jurassic blu-box for example. I think the DVD looks great.

No. My laptop includes a BR drive but I don't use it because I have no plans to burn my laptop out by plugging it to my TV to watch movies. That's what Netflix is for. I also don't own any BR discs, so I effectively don't even remember that the laptop has it.

I made my peace with it early last year, but that was later undone by a subsequent tv broadcast. It's fucking horrible. I used to say War of the Worlds is Spielberg worst movie, but not anymore.

Spielberg and Lucas should be put on trial for what they did.

It's taken forever to come about, but the first three Indiana Jones movies will be released on Blu-ray for the first time later this year. Paramount announced it will deliver The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection this fall (no exact date yet), without explaining how it could possibly be complete if it lackedThe Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. This set does however include the three movies everyone wants to see (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade) plus the other one (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) which was previously released on Blu-ray. Paramount and Lucasfilm are promising the "highest possible" picture and audio quality plus a collection of the usual behind the scenes featurettes and extras plus some surprises. Judging by the work Lucasfilm and Fox did on the Star Wars Blu-ray discs we should be in for a treat, and fans of other classic Spielberg flicks have a lot to look forward to from Universal's centennial celebration releases which will include Jaws and E.T. While we wait for more details, hardcore Indy fans can already get their preorder on at Amazon where the set is priced at $74.99, or check after the break for the press release and a few throwback trailers.

We would not be in for a treat if they were held to the standards of the Star Wars Blu-rays. The intent is to get new hi-def transfers of the Indy Trilogy without a bunch of alterations. Now, we would certainly be in for a treat if they included deleted scenes like the Star Wars Saga. Otherwise, do nothing like that set. They didn't even port over the original special features.

I agree... releasing a 7 year old "restoration" that was actually only intended to be used for an SD release on a HD medium isn't anything else but disappointing.

Luckily Spielberg and Paramount will have a say in this, and if the latest HDTV-broadcasts are any indication of things to come, I'll be more than satisfied. And we Germans even get the original German dub from 1981 (which wasn't so clear lately, after "Raiders" recently got a complete German re-dub in 5.1, sadly with mostly different voice actors).
