  1. Have you guys heard this? Sounds absolutely kick-ass! Very old-school, I can't believe it isn't already being discussed here...

  2. Homeland had an interesting premise that was butchered by the usual cliches, a lack of plausibility and plotlines that were either poorly executed, far-fetched, or sometimes just plain silly (and not in a good way). It has its perks, and can come out quite nicely when its not trying to exploit the appeal to that kind of conspiracy genre, but falters when compared to Sherlock. The latter is just more interesting visually and stylistically, and there is a lot more charisma to the cast. Sherlock is a show I can have fun with, even at its worst. Homeland at its best is entertaining stuff, but at its worst, utterly dull.

  6. Ah! Brian Ferneyhough! One of my favourite Youtube commentators (fremsley001) has made it his life's mission to take the piss of Ferneyhough, Finnisy, Emsley and other pseuds. http://www.youtube.com/user/fremsley001/about

  7. The only reason why GRAVITY's score is popular is become it appeals to audiences weaned on nothing but modern pop-- especially minimal and ambient subgenres. It works like gangbusters for the same peeps who thought M83's OBLIVION was the best thing since sliced bread. This helps mask the fact that it's more cloying, dumbed-down and sentimental than any Williams/Spielberg collob.

  10. Of "classical" music, I consider Vivaldi my favorite composer. And this album contains, in my opinion, the finest recordings of some of his works: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FQITXE/ref=dm_ws_ps_cdp?ie=UTF8&s=music The "La Follia" recording is sublime. I'm hesitant to post a shitty-quality YouTube video, but even through that amount of compression, the performance shines through:
