  1. Gee, when he draw inspiration from the script, how could this happen? Thing is though, you have always been a dick. In deft contrast to your sunny nature...

  3. That's rubbish, no one of the old pro's would've passed off a verbatim minute-long quote of a famous composer as his/her own work.
  4. Whereas Williams bumbling Prokoviev march is the kind of music grown men should spend their time listening to!
  5. And even with Williams your interest level comes to a screeching halt if the work in question does not waddle in certain narrowly defined musical parameters, read easily identifiable Hollywoodized harmonies and tunes. As André Previn put it in his bio, 'No Minor Chords', indeed!
  6. If you have the original CD, frankly not so much. It's one of those cases were people fall over themselves in excitement, but i fail to see what it offers that the Warner release does not.
  7. And it came twice, too... Once with reversed stereo channels, which makes the money-intense quest for it so much more fun...
  8. Both are release-worthy scores, but certainly not above scores like 'Messenger', 'Lonely are the Brave' or other indeed still unreleased Goldsmith scores. 'Link' very obviously is out of the equation for the 14th release.... But of course it could turn out neither Goldsmith nor Williams.
  9. And those come in bigger numbers than Williams fans around here, it seems.
  10. Or Morricone. 'The List of Adrian Messneger' would be welcome, too!
  11. 'Black Sunday' if he discarded re-recorded thingies...but the announcement would still read a bit strange, then. or 'The Salamander'? This is an early 80's Goldsmith with catchy theme, a 'Final Conflict'-y chorale piece and action music...never released.
  12. Morricone = 'Danger Diabolik' As i said, it has a rather big cult following, but i doubt Intrada ventures too far from american shores. Barry and Delerue have all their 'major' scores released, the Goldsmiths you named sound too esoteric but would sure be welcome. 'Black Sunday' would be cool but had to sound substantially better than the boot. I'll keep the Motzing suite... Isn't at least something from 'Beyond Poseidon Adventure' released?
  13. That just got released in 2001. You don't say? A bootleg taken from the films soundtrack isn't what i am dreaming of.
  14. It's Paramount, to state the obvious. And my biggest wish would be Morricone's 'Danger: Diabolik' which is one of the hippest 60's scores i know...apparently, it burned but one can dream...
  15. I gathered from the words of LaLalands' producer at FSM MB that 'Link' (Goldsmith') will come from some label in the near future. I also have it on good authority that 'Gremlins' may come this year, due to the 25-year-reuse-fee rule. Sadly, an expanded 'Dracula' doesn't seem a possibility at the moment, which is a shame.
  16. But that's the very definition of popular culture. Those references wouldn't be in the film if they weren't somehow ingrained in the collective memory of society. I saw this 'Monsters vs. Aliens' 3-D flick. While i'm certainly 20 years too old for it, i can certainly say that the wafer-thin story, one-joke characters and morale lessons so lame that even the most pious and god-fearing bible belt citizens might raise an eyebrow in derision don't add any shiny medals to the Dreamworks mantle. Some of the 3-D effects were neat, but alas, i nearly had to throw up through all the razzle dazzle, so even that feature didn't resonate with me.
  17. 'Twilight Zone - The Movie'...'Nightmare at 44.000 Feet' is still tops. Obviously, FSM is making the Goldsmith camp happy with a complete release soon.
  18. My condolences. And listening to 'Jacob's Ladder' with one of the best 'haunting' piano melodies even Williams could be proud of.
  19. That goes without saying for many. I remember how my friends and i were sitting in the cinemas and sang the 5 note bridge from the 'JP Theme' in a gremlinish sort of way during the credits. It just was memorable. But even then, i found the movie lacking. Later that year, i saw 'Army of Darkness' and found it much more exciting.
  20. Well, obviously, because they would likely be much worse than they are now. And I doubt John Williams would have scored them, either. That's what i mean: they wouldn't. It's a potboilerish blockbuster which has breath for exactly one viewing. The attempt to pass this workmanlike stuff as shining Spielberg hour is just inane.
  21. I find it much more grotesque to call it a good movie. 'Lost World' being 'better' is relative and just in the eye of the beholder. I wouldn't buy either on home video, there are just more worthwile things to do. If Richard Donner or Renny Harlin would have directed this, i doubt this movie would get the ape love people here lavish on it.
  22. Normally I wouldn't go along with you on such a harsh statement, Joey...but here I'm gonna have to agree with you. So i have Larry, Moe and Curly against me? Almighty lord, i'll have to reconsider then.
  23. Made from the remains of what was to be his Interview With the Vampire score, I believe. One of my Fenton favourites is Ever After. 'Mary Reilly' is indeed a very good score i almost forgot when creating my mp3 archive. 'Memphis Belle' is another favourite, as is 'High Spirits'.
