  1. I actually only recently was able to appreciate this score as I also just recently picked it up from Barnes and Noble. I really enjoy it, especailly the end credits.
  2. I check from time to time, its not on there as far as i know.
  3. Hal Leonard has out string orchestra versions of Prayer for Peace and Hatikva.
  4. At my college we play the imperial march as a shortie in the stands, and when we played against Morgan State they actually played The Flag Parade in the stands.
  5. I just got Schindler's List and Hymn to the Fallen in today. Pepper is a good company, if you order before 2:30 it ships out that day and it usuall arrives 2 days later. Iordered these yesterday and now I have them both less than 24 hours later! I actually ordered Hatikvah too, that should be here tomorrow. I really love Hymn to the Fallen, I think its a great piece!
  6. Well go to jwpepper.com and type in item number 2314631 for the schindler's list score alone. The also have dry your tears afrika (24011446). Schindler is in stock, Afrika is on backorder, so they would ship seperately but they will not charge you extra shipping for anything on backorder.
  7. It is, but this is most definately a welcome listen. You did a good job with all of it!
  8. Haha you made the version of Anakin's Dark Deeds that I've wanted ever since the film came out.
  9. Yeah, thats what I had meant. Finale, Sibellius or some other software is used to engrave the score to be performed.
  10. Well I believe Finale is used to engrave his music for recording, or at least thats what finale sort of says. The advertisement says that it was used to "compose the music for popular films such as ...Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."
  11. Haha I agree with you, let me know how Hatikva is, and if you want when i get Prayer for Peace I'll send you a scan of the score or something to help you decide if you want to purchase that or not.
  12. Its a score published by Hal Leonard that is basically exactly as Williams wrote it, and he writes a message in it describing the piece and signs off on it. Its a pretty neat thing to have! Easily recognizable by its dark blue cover. Haha, I'm horrible at explaining these things!
  13. That would be awesome, a Caddilac of the Skies Signature Edition. Also I was on jwpepper.com and they have Sound the Bells! listed as in stock. It shows a signature edition cover, so I assume it is. The score alone's item number is 2475787 and the complete set's number is 2475786. You know what else would be cool? Seven Years in Tibet, I actually bought the only arrangement I can find available, a John Moss concert band arrangement, which isn't too bad, but is in no way a replacement for a signature edition. I'd like a Munich suite too with Prayer for Peace, Thoughts of Home, and Remembering Munich. I just ordered a string orchestra arrangement of Prayer for Peace from Pepper, so I am excited to be getting that (doesn't ship till its October 1st release).
  14. I have the JFK Suite, Hogwarts Forever and the Horn Concerto signature editions, though I am DYING for them to make a Born on the Fourth of July Signature Edition (end credits suite!).
  15. Aren't dynamics part of artistic freedom? Artistic freedom is why you become a conductor. The reason you like a piece in the first place is because of an interpretation of the conductor. You can like one one conductors intretation of a piece and not anothers. It brings freshness to a very tired repetoire. I understand what you mean comepletely and I agree that dynamics are a VERY important part, however I do not believe that clearly communicating the pulse and beat should suffer from it. Now maybe he did communicate that to some degree, but there are some that just...don't.
  16. Haha, well there should be less "artistic freedom" with comducting. Becuase sometimes...well I just don't think some of them are trying to communicate anything other than dynamics. Its annoying.
  17. Awesome, thanks for the help!
  18. How does an isolated score work? Is it like a bonus where you can just listen to it, or can it be ripped clean from the film?
  19. So I was quite happy last night when I randomly came across the 1941 soundtrack in Barnes and Noble last night. Like really randomly, it was filed in the 'R' section. Anyway, after listening to it I realized that this was definately one of the most fun soundtracks I've heard in a long time, and was disapointed when I read the liner notes and realized that there is nearly 50 minutes of material not on this release. Now I know that there is an expanded version out there, so I was wondering where it could be obtained. Thank you for any help that can be provided!!
  20. There was some stuff, like a cut horn solo during "Bearing the Burden". Let me know how it is, I'd really like to hear it!!
  21. Sounds good to me! Your episode 1 set was very well put together, so I have faith that this will be every bit as awesome.
  22. Its certainlt one of the best edits available though, I believe.
  23. This is how the Ultimate Edition SHOULD have been done in the fist place!
