  1. "Anakin, you're breaking my heart, you're going down a path I can't follow!"
  2. Yeah, I find it hard to believe that anakin and padme's 'romance' was really the inspiration behind Across the Stars.
  3. I finally saw this movie and I have to say I was not impressed. 1. The score was okay. I expected more from Alan Silvestri and I guess the film itself may have presented less opportunities for music than his other films like the Back to the Future films. Although, I have to admit that the Avengers main theme soars in this film. 2. Certain relationships were sidelined. I was a fan of the Captain America movies and I really liked Steve and Bucky's relationship. I thought their friendship was nuanced and rare. I did not expect these last two Avengers movies to revert their dynamic back to the typical 'hero-and-his-chubby-sidekick' pairing, given the fact that Steve had just spent 2.5 movies 'saving' his friend. I can now confirm that Bucky is basically like Thor's hammer. He's a human MacGuffin and he's going to appear in 4 more movies as a MacGuffin. 3. The good guys were invincible I liked it, because it's a popcorn flick. But, Captain Marvel was too ridiculously strong. I feel like she could've shrunken the entire movie into a 5-minute mini film. 4. Poor Bucky, Steve went back in time and he chose to dance with Peggy. I'm with you till the end of the line. Even when I had nothing, I had Bucky Clearly Marvel was long out of character before Endgame. 3.5/5
  4. I look forward to the new trilogies. But Star Wars without John Williams is a fundamentally different experience. It’s like Der Ring des Nibelungen without Richard Wagner. lol what if Hans Zimmer wrote the ring cycle...
  5. I think the fact that John Williams would single out Han Solo and the Princess, and revisit it in a way distinct from how he’s reworking all the themes on the upcoming ASM Violin album just shows how much he treasures the theme.
  6. Can I say The German Sub is such an awesome track? It’s so goooooooooooooooooooooooood! It’s perfection!

I’d been trying to guess what direction the Maestro will go with TLJ. I did the same with TFA and JW blew my mind, TFA has become one of my all-time favorite JW scores, just below the original Star Wars score. With TROS, I think JW will either revisit all the major themes from TPM to TLJ, or he’ll simply use the new themes from TFA, TLJ and TROS. My only wish is that the recording will sound as inviting, lush and wet as TPM, because the sound of TFA and TLJ are too dry for me. Anyway, TROS will surely be an exciting listening experience. 🎉🎉🎉
  8. Disney releases Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) Me: So this is how Star Wars dies. With thunderous applause.
  9. I appreciate that you're saving what you love! I find The Scavenger to be superior to Rey's Theme. Esp that moment, 0:53 of The Scavneger. Pure JW magic! I actually see Poe's theme as a substitute for the Force Theme/Ben Kenobi's Theme.
  10. Galaxy's Edge Symphonic Suite: I. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge II. Solo and Chewie III. The Kessel Run IV. The Shower Scene V. A Game of Sabacc VI. Romantic Flight This Galaxy's Edge piece certainly sounds like a Star Wars fugue to me.
  11. I agree. Main Theme 1+2: I don't really like the main subject, but starting from 0:52, the piece gets better. Secondary Subject: Yeah, this one feels very Indiana Jones, maybe even Lawrence of Arabia. Opening Fanfare in b flat major: This is really cool. Indeed a period of civil war. Fugal moments: Love them! Seems like the fugue has returned! This is definitely the best theme park music I've heard. This new wave of JW music is exciting. For now, this new symphonic suite will get me through most of 2019. Bravo!
  12. better include a love theme for Han and Chewie! Movement II: Han and Chewbacca I mean, there isn't really a brotherly type of love theme in SW right?
  13. yeah it's very cheeky. I would love to see JW conduct it live!
  14. yeah, I'll give it 500 stars. That riff is very Star Wars. I don't think I've anything like it outside of SW scores!
  15. The Adventures of Han I just realized it's actually very memorable. I think I now rank it above Rey's Theme and below The Jedi Steps and Finale, which I think sums up both Luke's journey through ANH-ROTJ and Rey's journey in TFA very well. Now I'm waiting for IX to surprise me with something as great as Luke and Leia, reflective and hopeful.
  16. and usually Williams ends his pomp and circumstance pieces with a blast, why do I hear some echoes after the typical John Williams ending? They sound electronic!
  17. That game should be named Lawrence of Tatooine Maybe have Luke or Rey as unlockable characters, better feature the Alec Guiness character from Lawrence of Arabia as well. Galaxy Edge! Great music!
  18. #SithLivesMatter Go Palpy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YYYYIIIIIIPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
  19. Yeah, and I suspect they really would end the trilogy with some binary sunset scene, because ROTS did it so why can't TROS copy that. Given it's Disney, they'll probably literally copy and paste Binary Sunset from ANH. It'll be so meta and crappy. But we'll get another Binary Sunset + End Credits track so...
