I need hardly say that I'll buy this set ASAP, but as I can see, that also means I'll have to rebuy the KotCS soundtrack which I'll buy any day now, and probably I won't be the only one ... What's the point? <_<
Still waiting for two packages from VS and SAE. In the meantime, I bought Chopin's Nocturnes and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition - piano version.
Bravo, Joey, you did a great job! The list itself is no surprise to me, except maybe that Star Wars only finished in 4th place. But we of course have ESB on 1st. Otherwise, it's just like king mark said:
When is TMotU actually coming out? I was just looking at La La Land Records webpage and there's no mention of that score. Also, does anybody have any idea to how many copies it will be limited? Probably 3000?
Johan de Meij, Jan Van der Roost, Robert W. Smith, Eric Whitacre, David Maslanka, Alfred Reed and many more. Although they primarily write concert music for concert bands, they've all also been known to compose for symphony orchestra.
Thanks, richuk. I'm looking forward to receiving my copy. Especially as I'll also get to "taste" some of the composers whose work I've never heard before, and it's always interesting to discover new names in the industry.
Considering all of HGW's work I've heard so far, I rate it 4,5 stars. It's definitely a great score and I regret that in tie with Director's Cut 4 DVD edition, they didn't also think of putting out an expanded score on 2 CDs.
