  1. Listened to it tonight, finally; for me, this is one of those "I knew I liked this score, but I didn't know I liked it THIS much" type releases. In other words, it's an expanded John Williams score. Glad to add it to the collection, glad I'll get to revisit it many more times over the years. Looking forward to the next one!
  2. Guaranteed the judge in this case is still mad about having been tricked by the trailer into seeing mother! a few years ago.
  3. There's some great stuff featured in this podcast. Great work, Thor! And here's hoping for a big box set of the scores someday.
  4. Sounds like an attempt at a throwback track. "Surrender" sounds like the real deal. I like the former; I love the latter.
  5. I don't know how anyone who has listened to decades' worth of Williams's music could hear that trailer and think there's even a tiny chance he worked on its music. End of story.
  6. Crap, if I'd known that when I bought four of their five new releases, I'd have added one of those into the cart.
  7. One of my least favorite Bond movies, one my favorite Bond scores. On this like breading on okra.
  8. I've been downloading these episodes and archiving them forever, but had not gotten around to actually listening to any of them until this week. I'm up to the Bachelor Flat episode now, and just wanted to say that it's a very enjoyable and informative show. Pretty thrilled I get to listen to the rest of Williams's career this way! Thanks, and keep kicking ass!
  9. Well worth seeing. I think Kathy Bates is even better in this than she was in Misery.
  10. There's nothing wrong with comparing one thing to another. But it's reductive and annoying when that comes in the form of "What's better, this or this?" It's possible to like two things without feeling the need to pick which is your preference.
  11. I believe in voicing my opinion when I feel like it's worth voicing. If you don't like it, that's your problem.
  12. I suspect he won't stop composing until he starts decomposing, and hopefully that'll be no time soon.
  13. As a theatre manager, I can tell you that it is S.O.P. to place a cue to turn the lights up partway when the credits begin. It's a liability thing. There was no need to put one on Jaws, though, because the credits are short and the image onscreen puts out enough light for people to get up and walk out without falling down the stairs and breaking their necks.
