historically, brithish bands are the best, but in this decade american bands rule the rock scene (at least for me) personally, i think that the 3 greatest rock bands nowadays are THe White Stripes Interpol The Killers (altough im very disappointed with their b sides and covers material: "Sawdust") I'm expecting to see how they perform on their next album, because Sam's Town is great

im a softcore fan of coldplay, in only have their albums, no DVDs, no special editions or forums or whatever but enjoy every record and i believe that Viva La Vida is breathtaking in its beauty!!!

I FINALLY got it yesterday, i've just listened to it for the second time and I love it, remember I dont have or know the other 3 albums so for me this is a new experience, I agree, we don't have a very powerful new theme or themes, but we got a very cohesive album as someone said before no new material? we have THREE new themes!!!(being my favorite the Call of the crystal) i've read some complains about the jungle chase, but I dont hear anything wrong about it, its great! Also i have to try, as you recommended, to listen the album in chronological order! my only complain: track 12, Grave Robbers: too much Geisha, Zam the assassin, Lost Word... it's a hleter skelter of other materials.... about the Oscars, as I recall, sequel scores cannot be nominated anymore!! this was said in the times of POE!!! dont you remember,or something changed?? PS: Colin,I loved your review

its SUPPOSED to sound peruvian, but believe me, it sounded a lot to me like mariachi in the film, and I am MEXICAN, so i know what I'm talking about, hehe in other parts we hear hues of peruvian music, when i have the CD ill tell you... =(, in the meantime, i recall we hear peruvian when indy explains nazca lines but we hear mariahci when they arrive to peru PD: Pancho villa didnt speak quechua, gimme a break!!! heheh
