  1. I can understand that. But for me, it seems like just one repetition too many.
  2. I must also empathize with Blume also, to some extent. It does get a bit too much when the chorus joins in, just before the crescendo finish. That said, the moment in Journey to the Island where the theme finishes, and the martial rhythmic bit begins is a wonderful segue.
  3. I really like the narration segments. Like Incanus said, It helps frame the story the music tells for a film that I'll likely never take the time to watch. For a film score fan who is more interested in the composer's work than the film for which it is written, it serves almost as audio- liner notes, if that makes sense. I wish more of these style story recordings exist. For example, I'll probably never sit down to watch Jane Eyre, but if there was a narrated recording like this, it would help me understand the context of the score a little better. This is a fun release.
  4. The electric guitar in AOTC made a lot of people take notice.
  5. Like no other in my collection. ,it feels wrong to call it a booklet. It's really a small hardcover volume in and of itself.
  6. Did anyone else have AOTC Coruscant chase flashbacks in the final fight on the air car? And why did they re-freeze Khan instead of making him stand trial? I might have missed it, but where are they keeping Khan and his people? Are they to be launched back into space on the Botany Bay?
  7. That pic of Freeborn and Oz with Jim Henson is pretty epic.
  8. Before this trailer hit, I was predicting that they would not refer to Kal-El as "Superman" in this film. It's not in the title, and I don't think he'll be called Superman in the film either. I think they think the name is as silly as red shorts, and they're pulling a Selina Kyle on us.
  9. For whatever reason, I think I played The Land Race from Far and Away about eight times today.
  10. Then you absolutely must check out the orchestral version of that arrangement here. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Royal-Philharmonic-Orchestra-Legends-Williams/dp/B00149BCWQ
  11. Best wishes, and get better soon! Health scares are the worst. Take care.
  12. No one knows how to paint with physical media anymore. Or if they do, the suits don't consider it marketable. I mourn the death of poster art. Really all commercial illustration, for that matter.
  13. Stan Lee's writing blurred the lines of the superhero and science fiction genres pretty well I think.
  14. Much like The Thing, it's about an extra terrestrial who sets up residence in the arctic.
  15. Merry Christmas to all of you! Enjoy the best time of the year!
  16. I'm an old softie, so for me, this score is the fast track to Warm-n-Fuzzy-Land. Love it!
  17. I got mine yesterday. This is such a terrific presentation. This release blows the old one out of the water. Go out and get this one!
  18. Total coincidence. I'm not even sure I'd call it that because it is quite different. However, Williams himself did conduct Phillips' theme for the Outof this World CD, so we know he's familiar with it. If you Really want to hear a Battlestar ripoff, listen to Lee Holdridge's theme to the .
