  1. That's A+SG?! Oh, dear, it sounds like some high school ensemble, playing a badly orchestrated tune, composed by a second-year music student. I do hope that any studio recording is better than this?
  2. The best thing that can be said about the performance, is that it is resolutely average.
  3. Thank you, Omen, I'll check it out, asap. Bugger Trump's Theme!
  4. See "HMV is closing in Canada", ffi.
  5. Do I look like I'm joking? It gives amateur dramatics a bad name.
  6. To my shame, I have never heard this. I watched the ceremony, in '09, but some idiot BBC journalist talked all over it! Ho, hum. Which CD is it on?
  7. Its a shame that her acting barely registered, as well
  8. I wonder if she's not referring to the wearer, rather than what is worn? Remember, she has a slightly prickly demeanor. ...but, yeah, the product-placement is shameless.
  9. Great narration, on a fantastic album. "Imagine me saying the following": marvelous!
  10. This is not fair!
  11. 2017 has begun...
  12. TAT, like the film, is a score that resonates more with me, the older I get. It's a mini-masterpeice., which currently occupies the number 8, in my top-ten JW scores. It's a damn good score. Now, all we need is the extended THE HEALING PROCESS, and the "swashbuckling" music...
  13. Farewell, Caligula, Farewell, Stephen Ward, Farewell, Kane, Farewell, John Merrick, Farewell, Mr. Olivander, Farewell, Bob Champion, Farewell, J.R. Haddon. Farewell, The War Doctor, Farewell, Richard Rich, Farewell, Timothy Evans, Farewell, to the greatest, and my all-time favourite post-war actor, ever. R.I.P. Mr. Hurt, you were my lucky star.
  14. There's not much, if anything, to go on. Information was rather scant, on that LP. Your entire collection?! What happened?
  15. Some JWfaners maintain that INSIDE THE MOTHERSHIP is a rerecording, for POPS IN SPACE. I have been listening to POPS IN SPACE, since 1980, and I also saw the SE:CE3K, in 1980. I can hear no difference between the music on the CD, and the music in the film. I am, however, prepared to be proven wrong. It might be a alternate take.
  16. THE ANCESTRAL HOME, is hardly used, nor is the music composed to underscore the "bull" sequence. As far as I'm aware, THE RIVER is not a rerecording.
  17. Yes, it reached. number two on the UK charts, in 1974. I think they would describe themselves as "Anglophiles". Their albums are uniformly excellent, but I'd single-out KIMONO MY HOUSE, and NO. 1 IN HEAVEN, as standouts. Now post BEAT THE CLOCK.
  18. Agreed, but I wasn't commenting on that. Stefan said that it's 100% advertising, and advertising is, at the very least, trying to present your product in a good light (no pun intended). True, I've never seen a Deakins-photographed film that looked bad, but I have seen several films where the only saving grace was the photography.
  19. Stu, your posts, today, have been outstanding, and I intend to recommend you for promotion...in whatever thread you end up serving (!). Best speed to Other Topics!
