  1. Poltergeist, usually quoted as one of his top 4 best ever, and my personnal favourite. Close second:The Final Conflict(The Omen part 3).New re-masrered expanded release.Just listen to Goldsmith's chorus work knock anything Williams ever did with a chorus. It blows DotF. K.M.
  2. I don't plan to see the movie.is it an interesting score or not.I ask here because I know what kind of answer i will get at the FSM MB. K.M.
  3. Yes Williams composed meet the press. Apart the Conset arrangement of the NBC news theme, the original music Williams composed and conducted in 1985 consisted of 4 separate short 2 minute or so segments: 1-The Mission Theme(NBC news main theme) 2-Scherzo for Today. 3-Fugue for the Changing Times(Became Meet the Press) 4-And another...the title eludes me right now. He also did 9 bumpers and short 30 sec segment variations of the main theme. The rest of all NBC news music is based onilliams material but re-arranged by other composers. K.M.
  4. why would they release an incomplete Shadows of the Empire C.d.It's not a soundtrack and was certainly designed for a 1 c.d. release.in any case it would be illogical. k.m.
  5. i can get him..but he's expensive too. k.m.Who sold ALL his SW toys and only gets those small figures now.
  6. At least the didn't make him as an Imperial officer. k.M.
  7. it s one of those Micromachine x-wings... K.m.
  8. and he looks like he's been working out too. K.m.wondering why they didn't do him in a Jedi outfit.
  9. On the card his face is hidden by a helmet.i saw it here in canada for 150 cdn at a speciality shop.(82$ U.s.) K.M.
  10. You're one of few who doesn't think the musical choice when Padme pulls away wasn't funny. It was a good choice, but the reduction is too abrupt. This same style is used in romantic comedies. I agree,it's a bit like a score to a cartoon or something,it just cuts off in a odd way. k.m.
  11. The little flute like coda at the end is cool too. on the original End Credits of Raiders.I also like the part where the middle part of the indy march builds up just after Marion's theme in the end credits. k.m.
  12. The other version of Return of The Jedi is either the 40 minute out of print Polydor Release(don't waste money on that.),or the Booklet Version where there are slipcases to put the c.d's if i were to buy them over again,I'd get the slimline ones, since you can change the jewel case if it's damaged.I do not like those new carthboard packages recent Williams expanded releases come into.Besides,in the booklet version,it's a sure bet you'll scratch the c.d's whan putting them out and back in the slipcases,so you have to store them elsewhere. K.M.

  14. Please,it's one of the worst songs i ever heard, yet unfortunately i couldn't get it out of my head for days. K.m.who listened to that score...once.
  15. Hmmm, ross actually no,you got me more confused now.And that was only part of my question. You didn't answer the part about the EXECUTIVE producer. And we all Know Lucas himself paid for the movie and is getting 4 $ per ticket sold and he's not the Producer,Mc Callum is,that's the confusing part. From what I thought a producer gets the profits and the Executive Producer has the power to over-rule the Director(basically what Lucas did in ESB and ROTJ and Spielberg in Poltergeist) . K.M.Hoping one of you movie wizards could come up with something better.
  16. Too many, can't reply to this sort of thread anymore. k.m.
  17. I voted for that one. It's sort of played over the top like Supeman's Theme when he lifts up the Helicopter. I also like the "bridge "section of Indy's theme as heard in The Portugese Coast in Last Crusade. K.M.
  18. From the point on it TOD when Indy rescues the Slave childrens to when Mola Ram falls in the crocodile filled river,it's just one great 30 minute so relentless action cue,and most of it is unreleased on c.d. K.M.
  19. Was just wondering if Williams used some alternates like on the album in the live performance(E.T. is Dying notably). K.M.
  20. Yes,please remind me in 10 years when I get around getting a SACD player. K.M.Poking fun at Ricard's headline on the main page.
  21. i saw that museum display.AMAZING those 5 foot Star Destroyers are when you see them up close, aren't they... i had pics of me taken beside almost all space ships and Characters on Display... k.m.wondering why the Death Star 2 model wasn't on display(no it wasn't a matt painting like ANH)
  22. The puppet Yoda was good for an 80's movie, and Frank Oz did a great job,but I remember it took a few viewings of ESB before Yoda became more natural. The first time I thought he did look like a puppet, especially when he meets Luke and does semi -funny antics. The puppet Yoda in TPM looked TERRIBLE. In AotC,he has his ESB and ROTJ look back, which is good, can walk and do lots of stuff, which is very good, and has more facial expressions(like E.T. cgi in the 20th annversary version),which is also very good. As for his skin texture in AOTC,only in a FEW scenes he doesn't look too realistic and plasticky(like when he's giving orders to the clone troopers on the ship),the rest is very fine thank you. SOOOO..hands down to CGI Yoda. K.M.
  23. intreseting thread.I saw the film twice in THX and had trouble hearing the music. My last viewing was in "mere" DTS with the volume cranked up and most of the music was quite loud and more present than in THX.Maybe THX makes the sound mix sound different... I agree with Chris Afonso, producer Mc callum said there was officially 125 min of new music composed for the film and Takis's theral analisis shows just that. The TPM music was tracked because Williams probably didn't write anything for CGI scenes that probaby barely existed when he composed the score. k.m.
  24. Well you know Goldsmith, great scores for often mediocre or very bad films(King Solomon's mines,Supergirl,The Swarm, the Burbs,Explorers,Legend,Baby,Secret of the Lost Legend...the list goes on and on...) K.M.
