  1. Mine was in the mail box waiting for me when I got home from work! So excited! Once it went out it was lightning quick!
  2. Would love to see Spielberg tackle something like that. Would love even more to hear what Williams would do with it.
  3. "The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara" is something I'm seriously looking forward to. Hopefully Spielberg actually gets to it.
  4. Strangely, I've only heard two of his scores all the way through: Quigley Down Under and Lonesome Dove. Conan is one of those scores I've caught in bits and pieces, loved everything I've heard, but never sat down with fully.
  5. Listened to most of Shore's The Return of the King complete recording the other day (I plan on getting back to the rest of it this weekend), which was on Spotify (I also noticed it's free on Amazon Prime as well). Which is good, since I've hated myself for not picking up the physical release like a decade ago when it was first available. I have the first two complete scores, but for some bizarre reason I cannot remember, I forgot to buy ROTK. It's an eyesore every time I look over at my shelf and notice the third one is missing. And now it's impossible to find at a reasonable price. But hey, at least there are other ways to listen to it. Angela's Ashes. Been a while for this one, and I forgot how short the program was, especially if you take off the repeated main theme at the end. Like a few other Williams' scores, this one works extremely well in small doses. Any longer and it runs the risk of overstaying its welcome, regardless of how lovely and beautiful the material can be. As it is, a great listen.
  6. No, it means exactly what it says. Concert starts at 8pm and a 30 minute pre-concert conversation will occur at 7pm with Kaufman. It's certainly possible that they arranged it just in case Williams needed a go-to for the first half, but it's a bit early to say.
  7. By the way, I love the cellist to Johnny left who is absolutely beside himself when Spielberg shows up.
  8. Nothing compares to a complete Star Wars cycle. It must be mine. It will be mine. One day.
  9. Was Spielberg not scheduled to be there, the audience reaction is curious. They thought he was joking!
  10. This topic is close to home for me. Sorry to hear about this situation, hope she has successful treatments.
  11. I keep meaning to venture beyond his 5th symphony, but I never get around to it. I seem to recall listening to one other symphony of his, but now I can't remember which one. I'll have to break out the complete set I have and binge them.
  12. The only Soundtrack albums I recall buying for a movie were Spawn ('97) and Godzilla ('98).
  13. Aside from the ones you and Stu already discussed, Oue's version with Minnesota and the recent release from Slatkin with Detroit are also very good.
  14. If CBS wants my money, then they need a ton of legitimately watchable content. Most network programing is just not my cup of tea, so as it stands, I have no intention of doling out $11 a month to get add-free content for one show.
  15. Well, at least Hef seemed to have had a good time while it lasted.
  16. Not sure if this was mentioned yet but I just heard that JJ Abrams is now developing a live action version of Your Name for Paramount. As a fan of anime in general, and knowing its track record of Hollywood adaptations, I feel a pit in my stomach. http://variety.com/2017/film/news/j-j-abrams-your-name-remake-paramount-1202574994/
  17. Or is it? https://kotaku.com/what-anime-means-1689582070
  18. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Caught the Fathom Events showing, original Japanese with English dub. Incredible on the big screen, appreciate it even more than I already did.
