96th Academy Awards (2024 Oscars for 2023 films)

The Glóscar for Best Original Screenplay: Nuri Bilge Ceylan et al About Dry Grasses

Honestly, it’s not going to get them all! E.g.:

The Glóscar for Best Adapted Screenplay: Andrew Haigh for All of Us Strangers.

The screenplays for Anatomy of a Fall and American Fiction are great, though. Evidently screenwriters should make sure their titles begin with “A”.

No sweep for Oppenheimer, they've lost two already

Now it's lost four. Poor Things is winning everything! So annoyed we didn't get to see it today

Oppie is losing everything :( will it go down in history as one of those movies who gets a lot of nominations and wins nothing?

Except for score of course, that award is already in Ludwig Gorannsson's shelf :P

I guess they’re giving Poor Things all these awards because they know Oppenheimer is getting the big ones.

Best International Feature (That Isn’t Also the Best Picture) Glóscar: The Zone of Interest.

Ah, snap!

Good speech from Glazer.

What's with the running bit of thanking or not thanking their publicists? I feel like I'm missing something

I think Randolph was just being sincere and the presenter picked up on the fact that she didn’t name them.

Or maybe they’re trying to set up an award for Best Publicist for next year...

I didn't until he spoke

Very cool that Godzilla won vfx. I haven't seen it but these guys are so thrilled! The guy messing up his notes is charming

Oppenheimer sure is losing a lot though

Lol, asking Schwarzenegger to pounce the Greek name of Poor Things editor

Hey Oppenheimer wins editing

Phew! Oppie finally won something

Now it has at least two Oscars: this one and Original Score ;)

How quickly you forget that RDJ won for Oppenheimer

I left to have a shower right after PT won Production Design and came back now. What did I miss?

Lol

Is this the same Kris Bowers that's scoring The Wild Robot?

He said John Williams was his inspiration in his acceptance speech

Have they played Helena's Theme or any JW music so far?

I don't think so

Hopefully Spielberg gets a JW theme for whatever award he's presenting.

Hoytema has been doing Nolan movies since Interstellar, right?

I like his work but sometimes I miss Wally Pfister. Dude was a genius. Hollywood did him dirty with that Transcendence movie.

It's garbage. So of course it will win tons of oscars.
