First of all, I need to find another name for my contest. Ryan's Cinemusic.net contest is called Mystery Clip and I don't want to continue using his name for my contest.... sorry Ryan! Can anyone help?

Anyway, Mystery Clip Contest Number 2 and 3 are underway!

http://www.geocities.com/cinematicsound/my...tery_clips.html

Identify the clips to win either SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW or HERO.

I had fun with these clips, too! Contest Ends October 24th at 11:59pm (EST)

Good luck!

One I know that I know, I just can't place the smegging thing! banghead

One other sounds vaguely familiar, the other four: no clue. :)

Still, I love this idea. I don't care about the prizes, it's all about the challenge for me. If there's ever one that I can get all three I'd be very happy. :|

I know one for sure, maybe the same one Marc knows.  I'm a failure!

Number 5, I assume.

BTW, are you implying I'm a failure too? :|

- Marc, :)

Yes, #5. And yes, you're a failure too. :)

Well, at least we're failures together. That eases the pain. Sort of.

- Marc, still :P

Congrats Dani!

Thanks Erik for the contests, they've been fun.

I knew 3 of the 6, but, just my luck, they were not within the same group. ;)

Bring on the next round!

Clip #3 - King of Kings - Miklos Rozsa (not The Mummy Returns!)

I sincerly hope no one thought this was The Mummy Returns.

Justin

Yup... two people thought that clip was from the King of Kings... but can you blame them, really. Silvestri's theme does sound a lot like Rozsa's finale.

I listened to the clips again. I should've known by the trumpets that the first one was Conti.

And I can see how someone could think that last clip was The Mummy Returns if they weren't that familiar with the score. It does sound similar.

I wouldn't have identified it as King of Kings without some test listening (I only have a suite of that score somewhere), but it's unmistakabely Rozsa.

Marian - who hasn't heard Mummy Returns, but is sure that it can't be mistaken for Rozsa. :)

That's crazy talk, Marian. Get The Mummy Returns and King of Kings. Now. :|
