I have to mention Nostromo from Alien. While it is not the most beautiful ship, it fits perfectly in to the movie. I also like the name Nostromo although I have no idea what it means. :)

It's just struck me that the Cygnus (The Black Hole) might have been designed by Gustave Eiffel.

Les Mystérieuses Cités d'Or

Unsure what the English title might have been.

Not a starship, but heck: the Golden Condor

Voyage dans la Lune

Georges Meliès' missile-like rocket

I prefer the Refitted Enterprise, over the Enterpise A, just a bit superior, and love the battledamage.

I also love the Executor. It's just so intimidating.

While I don't like the design...yes it IS intimidating...

That's mainly due to THE greatest introduction for a spaceship in the history of film/TV.

My hair still stands on ends thinking about it just the way it did the first time I saw the shadow dwarfing those giant Star Destroyers.

You just don't get shots like that these days...not even in modern Star Wars.

and for the record, the Enterprise would simply cut the Death Star to pieces. Certainly Janeway's modified Voyager would have, if it could destroy the borg, then the Death Star is like rice paper getting wet.

Well...the Enterprise has something the Death Star doesn't have...

Kirk...Spock, or in other words people with intelligence and experience.

The Death Star is filled with millions of people with the competence to hold a rifle...and...well...obviously not very steadily.

true, but like the Storm trooper in Star Wars, Scotty too bumped his head.

Well...good point...but I prefer to think of that as incompetence on the part of...well...a lot of behind the scenes people for STV.

On the other hand, Scotty could just easily beam a whole kit and kaboodle of tribbles over to the Death Star...

And well...the rest is history.

yes you do detect, the most powerful Star Ship in Star Trek was more than a match for any ship in Star Wars

Mr Chekov, initiate warp drive eng.... what's this green light?

(Explosions, camera shakes, fireworks END)

Most beautiful? Not sure about that.

Coolest small design: Episode III Jedi Starfighter

Coolest medium-sized design: Millennium Falcon

Coolest large design: the Enterprise, as shown in The Wrath of Khan

Coolest ridiculously-gigantic design: the Executor (I totally agree with Blumenkohl--not a brilliant design, but the execution is incredible...no pun intended.)

Dumbest design when something much cooler would have been feasible: E.T.'s ship. Sorry, E.T. fans, but that stupid sphere has always bothered me. :D
