Jay 42,495 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 A recent trend I've quite enjoyed is film studios setting up websites to hype their films for awards season, which are especially useful to film score fans as they offer a free way to legally stream the scores to some movies - and the streams usually contain more music than are on the official OSTs!I'll try to keep this main post updated as more sites featuring streaming scores pop up. If you find any, post here!I'm really hoping that Disney's FYC site will feature unreleased War Horse music, and Paramount's will feature Tintin music.---Disney - http://disneystudiosawards.com/Dreamworks - http://www.dreamworksawards.com/Dreamworks Animation - http://www.dwaawards.com/Kung Fu Panda 2 by Hans Zimmer and John PowellPuss In Boots by Henry JackmanFocus Features - http://www.focusawar....com/#/carouselThe Debt by Thomas NewmanHanna by The Chemical BrothersJane Eyre by Dario MarianelliTinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy by Alberto IglesiasFox - http://www.foxscreenings.com/Fox Searchlight - http://www.foxsearchlight.com/awards/Lionsgates - http://www.lionsgate...m/screening.phpParamount - http://www.paramountguilds.com/Adventures of Tintin by John WilliamsHugo by Howard ShoreLike Crazy by Dustin O'HalloranRango by Hans ZimmerSuper 8 by Michael GiacchinoSony Pictures - http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/academy/guild/Anonymous by Thomas Wander and Harold CloserArthur Christmas by Harry Gregson-WilliamsThe Girl With The Dragon Tattoo By Trent Reznor and Atticus RossThe Ides Of March by Alexandre DesplatMoneyball by Mychael DannaSony Pictures Classics - http://www.sonyclass...ds-information/Warner Brothers - http://warnerbros2011.warnerbros.com/Contagion by Cliff MartinezExtremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Alexandre DesplatHappy Feet 2 by John PowellHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 by Alexandre DesplatJ Edgar by Clint EastwoodWeinstein Company - http://twcguilds.com/The Artist by Ludovic BourceCoriolanus by Ilan EshkeriThe Iron Lady by Thomas NewmanMy Week With Marilyn by Conrad PopeW/E by Abel Korzeniowski
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,949 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Clint Eastwood will win for best score....
Jay 42,495 Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 I updated the main post with a bunch of other studio's FYC sites. Focus Features sites streams scores to a bunch of their contenders.Dreamworks' FYC page confirms that they will be pushing War Horse for Best Original Score.Paramount's doesn't say if they'll be pushing Tintin for best score yet
movied 24 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 So it looks like Paramount is putting Rango on the list for score. Interesting...Overall, lots of good options for score so far!
Little Ghost 7,877 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Does the FYC DH part 2 have extra tracks? This post has been edited from its original version, to make sense.
tharpdevenport 4 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Ehhh...Don't see a single thing I want to hear a lick of.
Richard P 4,779 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Some stuff Sony has would be worth hearing, but they have nothing more than a schedule of screenings. Maybe they'll put more on as we get closer.I really want to hear Desplat's Ides of March.
Jay 42,495 Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 It's early still. More and more scores will start streaming as the weeks go on
Muad'Dib 1,947 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Does the FYC HP2 have extra tracks?Nope. Just the Powell stuff from the album. It's even missing the best cue: Tappin' To Freedom. So it looks like Paramount is putting Rango on the list for score. Interesting...Wait... Didn't Hansy said he wasn't sending anything this year?
Jay 42,495 Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Does the FYC HP2 have extra tracks?Nope. Just the Powell stuff from the album. It's even missing the best cue: Tappin' To Freedom.HP = Harry Potter, not Happy Feet
Little Ghost 7,877 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Does the FYC DH part 2 have extra tracks?Nope. Just the Powell stuff from the album. It's even missing the best cue: Tappin' To Freedom.Um, thats a wierd cue for Deathly Hallows......
Jay 42,495 Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Well to be fair, it's the 8th Harry Potter film and not the second. HP8 or HPDH2 would have been a more accurate abbreviation
Little Ghost 7,877 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Does the FYC HP2 have extra tracks?Nope. Just the Powell stuff from the album. It's even missing the best cue: Tappin' To Freedom.so Is the album already released?Well to be fair, it's the 8th Harry Potter film and not the second. HP8 or HPDH2 would have been a more accurate abbreviationI know, I just fixed it (I made sure I made that clear in the OP)
Muad'Dib 1,947 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Whoops, sorry! Completely misread DH2 should totally have a cue called Tappin' To Freedom, though.
Jay 42,495 Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 It looks like the Happy Feet 2 selections on the FYC site are simply tracks 10-18, 19-22 from the OST.http://www.kidukidu....t-with-trailer/
Little Ghost 7,877 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Whoops, sorry! Completely misread DH2 should totally have a cue called Tappin' To Freedom, though. To reiterate: So the album is already released?
Jay 42,495 Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 It is being released a week from tomorrowhttp://itsjustmovies.com/18101
Jilal 628 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I hate songs on a score album...2011, year of the typo's."The Adventures of TinTIn"
Jay 42,495 Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 I know, i saw that! On their own site! Sad.BTW the plural of typo is typos, not typo's ---And Faleel, Michael "heard" the CD via the samples available on Amazon.com. See here.
the_WiZ 0 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 The music is spot on.I allways loved tintin, but this take blew me to bits...The movie was great but the soundtrack was even great.I could tell you that the music was par to the adventure.whould be true...The music is great and wonderful...
Jay 42,495 Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Did you post in the wrong thread?
Little Ghost 7,877 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Where are you getting this info about who has FYC sites?
Koray Savas 2,256 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 You don't need to get info, just search for the studio website.
King Mark 3,834 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 With our luck every score will be streamed complete this year, but Tintin won't be submitted
Luke Skywalker 2,205 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 damn!Well as long as the 120 minutes of War horse are posted AND williams wins his 6th oscar i would not mind it TOO much
King Mark 3,834 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I'd rather Williams score for Tintin also gets submitted in complete form , even if he gets nominated against War Horse
Maurizio 5,893 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Williams and Desplat will certainly make the final list. If Tintin will be submitted, the Maestro will surely take two noms as usual. As for the other slots, I suspect French movie The Artist will surely be part of the five nominees. I also have the suspect this will be the favourite one.Thomas Newman is a strong contender as well, as he has two Oscar-bait projects under his belt (The Help and The Iron Lady).
Richard P 4,779 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I hope Tintin isn't submitted. War Horse is his best chance in years.I think Ides of March will be nominated. It's just a pity that they will both be nominated for the wrong reasons.
Maurizio 5,893 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Tintin FYC website:http://www.paramount...ntin/#url=scoreThe score section features same content as the OST.Howard Shore's Hugo also available:http://www.paramountguilds.com/hugo/#url=score
Richard P 4,779 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I don't think we should be expecting WH or Tintin to have more than the OST. Wasn't the A.I promo pressed as the sessions by mistake?
Incanus 5,858 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I don't think we should be expecting WH or Tintin to have more than the OST. Wasn't the A.I promo pressed as the sessions by mistake? So the story goes yes. People should do more mistakes with promos really.
Maurizio 5,893 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 The full album of Thomas Newman's The Iron Lady can be heard here:http://twcguilds.com/film/the-iron-lady#scoreSounds interesting.
Luke Skywalker 2,205 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 damn i handt seen the tintin page was up and it contained the ost.NOT EVEN PICKING POCKETS as a small bonus
Little Ghost 7,877 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 damn i handt seen the tintin page was up and it contained the ost.NOT EVEN PICKING POCKETS as a small bonus The Tintin page isnt up...
thx99 1,986 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Has anyone successfully played track 29 of Ludovic Bource's The Artist from the FYC site?http://twcguilds.com...he-artist#scoreThe link appears to be incorrect.Edit: Track 29 of Eshkeri's Coriolanus isn't working either. Seems like there's a problem on the various Weinstein FYC sites with track 29 (the links show "39").
Luke Skywalker 2,205 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 damn i handt seen the tintin page was up and it contained the ost.NOT EVEN PICKING POCKETS as a small bonus The Tintin page isnt up...Are you sure?Tintin FYC website:http://www.paramount...ntin/#url=scoreThe score section features same content as the OST.
Maurizio 5,893 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Desplat's Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close full score available in streaming here:http://warnerbros2011.warnerbros.com/film.php?film=loud&PHPSESSID=df32109642c456ea014890be34f16637#
Richard P 4,779 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Sounds good, but it's in mono, which sucks. None of the others on that page are.
indy4 159 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Just listened to The Artist. It's really good. I still prefer both of JW's efforts this year, but worse scores could be chosen.
Richard P 4,779 Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I'm more disturbed that Dragon Tatoo is receiving so much acclaim (and yes, I've heard some of it). First Santa, now these two...
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,949 Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Just because its not orchestral film music...The Social Network was an effective filmscore.
crocodile 9,211 Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 As much as I want to disagree... it's true.Karol
Richard P 4,779 Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 It worked in the film. Doesn't automatically mean their next score will.
Jay 42,495 Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Updated the main post with a ton of new FYC sites streaming scores
fommes 161 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 How come DownloadHelper doesn't, well, help in case of Hugo, Puss in Boots, etc.?
Richard P 4,779 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 It does. I can see .ogg files available to download.
