La La Land Records Black Friday 2017

Everyone seems to be assuming it's Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV show). -

The Official La-La Land Records Thread

The samples for this Waxman release sound really freakin' good, but I just don't think I can justify buying it with everything else coming out.... Guess I can wait for a sale. http://lalalandrecords.com/Site/PeytonHemingway.html I mean... this is just great classic Hollywood here -
I hadn't seen the stuff about "NBC" style. Sounds cool! Also, never have I wished for a dislike button more than while reading this thread.

Aw, I miss cuddly, fat LOTR-era Peter Jackson with those round glasses.

How do you show your appreciation for John Williams?

Man, I think this is just what happens to JWFan as we get close to a new Star Wars score. They come out of the woodwork! -

He just took the most eyerolling shitty CBS-style sitcom relationship tropes and transplanted them into a Star Trek show. It's bad. I'm more interested in every character who is not the captain or XO. -
E.T. holds how many "place" in your CD collection?

We've all been on the edge of our seats waiting for your thoughts on the La La Land Close Encounters album program. -

Sounds like the beginning of a prophecy of doom: When the sky doth chime with MEMES and the death star of JOHN WILLIAMS hangs above thee, verily then thou shalt know that the end is nigh! -

We also watched episode 2 last night and it was absolutely awful. We'll stick with it of course but I hope episode 2 is the bottom. This I couldn't disagree with more. I find all of their scenes together absolutely excruciating and icky to watch. -

It might be too much for you Cremers. Lanthimos films are for more adventurous and cultured cinéastes. -

I'd definitely buy a Waxman boxset if that's what the Golden Age release turns out to be. -
It doesn't really seem like the kind of story that would call for a major dramatic score a la Schindler or Ashes.

Yeah that was discussed pages ago

I love this song! I don’t even remember where I discovered it. -

It’s certainly not great, best if you don’t expect that though. The ex-wife XO angle was awful, makes both characters look bad. If they’re the core of the show... oof. Also: hey cool Kasidy Yates is on this show -
Sounds like Star Wars dialogue to me!

Hey, the wife and I finally got around to watching the 1st episode. I liked it! Fun comfort food television for Next Generation fans basically. I'm in. -

Chic will always and forever be THE disco band to me. But ABBA being Scandinavian I understand why you single them out so I forgive you -

Close Encounters of the Third Kind - 2017 2-CD La-la Land edition!
Disco Stu replied to Jay's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I think the inclusion of "When You Wish Upon a Star" is inspired and wonderful. But just tracking in a performance from Pinocchio is a bad idea, glad they abandoned that. Williams arrangement/incorporation into the end credits is just classic people! I like good disco.
