indy4 159 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Both the Tintin and War Horse links have been taken down, at least for the US.
Josh500 1,620 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Both the Tintin and War Horse links have been taken down, at least for the US.Was Tintin ever up?
Jay 43,046 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Nothing was "taken down". Some of them were never up - only the ones that I put a date next to had a live link. The rest are there so people can keep checking.
Jay 43,046 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Best Buy appears to be the first place you can Pre-order the War Horse OST. But they list the date as Monday, November 21st for some reason.Link: http://www.bestbuy.c...horse&lp=1&cp=1
lester1231 11 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 What's the problem with the War Horse soundtrack on Amazon UK?http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005LK8NSK/ref=s9_simh_gw_p15_d5_g15_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=021H82M6RB89PQ4F896Y&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128533&pf_rd_i=468294
Jay 43,046 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Someone accidentally put up the artwork for the stage version on it.----UPDATE: Sony Classical just confirmed in an email to me that the US release date is Tuesday, November 22nd!
Incanus 5,858 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Looks like those who can't wait for the Tintin OST in US order it from Europe and the other way around with War Horse.
Jilal 628 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I hope they'll start shipping a little bit earlier then October 24.
Incanus 5,858 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 So... No word on You-Know-What-Track?There is no strength left in the World of Sony. It is in Specialty Labels we have to place our hope. There are still several that could restore it to its proper place. To restore Picking Pockets.
fommes 161 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 No picking pockets means money stays in pockets!
Little Ghost 7,989 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Restore the Track. You saw my son, you saw him listening to John Williams complete 2CD score for Tintin with Picking Pockets included!
Incanus 5,858 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 One Cue to rule them all, One Cue to find them,One Cue to bring them all and in the pockets bind themThe pressing plant manager has the initial album master in his hands with Picking Pockets still on it and John Williams urges him forward into the factory.John Williams: "Follow Me! Manny, hurry! Press it on the CD!"Sony pressing plant manager: "No!" (evil grin)John Williams: Manny!!!!(that's what the manager is called, get it. Manager= Manny. Hilarious.)
Little Ghost 7,989 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 (that's what the manager is called, get it. Manager= Manny. Hilarious.)Bad Joke!harumph grumble grinkle grinkle, graphsnake!
Incanus 5,858 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 It is great that we have finally gotten official info from Sony on the subject of the release dates. They seem to have been very taciturn until now.
Little Ghost 7,989 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 And then speilberg bursts in, bites off the manager's finger, and presses the CD, but is somehow (or so its thought) killed in the process.

Smelted in the fires of the pressing plant?I can just see the disappearance of this 19 track master tape and the following financial losses because of disgruntled JW fans toppling Sony's (dark) office tower.

Smelted in the fires of the pressing plant?Yes, but its duplicated on to hundreds of Lossless SuperFLAC files on CDs and CD-R's world over.and the copies reserved for Sony, are put into a warehouse by Conrad Pope:
King Mark 3,848 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Yes, I will go through the "walk of shame" of paying for a OST album to a store clerk who thinks this is gay music
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,077 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Geez, how you must feel when you buy a vibrator....
Luke Skywalker 2,223 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 so is picking pockets going to appear on the european version of warhorse? it being the last release, to make europeans wait...
nightscape94 967 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Cool, I'm actually more interested in the War Horse score anyway, so I'm glad to get my hands on that first.Tim
Demondm810 437 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 omg War Horse in just over a month. Too good to be true.
Incanus 5,858 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Can someone tell me if the cover on Amazon UK for War Horse is the legit thing or is it another variation on the fan made ones. This might have come up before but there have been so many threads and I am feeling too lazy to comb through them all. Here is the cover on Amazon UKhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/images/B005LK8NSK/ref=dp_image_z_0?ie=UTF8&n=229816&s=musicIf this is the legit one then I am very happy and Roald has an uncanny ability to anticipate Sony's art department's decisions. Or he has inside information.
JoeinAR 1,955 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I'm very excited about this release. It should be the best score of the year.
crocodile 9,233 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Again, congratulations to Roald on his spot-on intuition. It's not his cover, or is it?Karol
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Again, congratulations to Roald for his spot-on intuition. It's not his cover, or is it?KarolWhere did you get that? Is that the real cover art? ?UPDATE: Sony Classical just confirmed in an email to me that the US release date is Tuesday, November 22nd! Maurizio 6,052 Posted October 21, 2011 Author Posted October 21, 2011 Here's the cover at a nice resolution:
crocodile 9,233 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I really like it. And the fact we're going to hear some of the score tomorrow night I like even better!Karol
Maurizio 6,052 Posted October 21, 2011 Author Posted October 21, 2011 Cool where'd you find that?A friend of mine posted it today on a forum. He said he found it on Amazon.com.

It also confirm's my sources track list (WARNING: THE TRACK LIST THERE CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!)
tannhauser 101 Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Hmm. I'm going to have to give this a listen when it comes out, but I really don't want to spoil the movie with that tracklist. Post edited - see here
crumbs 15,548 Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 I'm going to try and avoid hearing any more of War Horse until I see the film. I decided to listen to Tintin before the film just to quench my Williams thirst, but I can wait for War Horse. I want to experience the music for the first time with the images it was composed for... and I don't want the ending ruined reading the track list!
EhTar 63 Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Pre-order now available at the Intrada shop !(Just ordered my copy)http://store.intrada...sc=2&category=7

Sandor 858 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Matthew_Lucas Matthew Lucas- New John Williams music. I'm in heaven. WAR HORSE is a gorgeous, classic Williams score. I've missed this.@Matthew_Lucas (OST impressions only):New John Williams music. I’m in heaven. WAR HORSE is a gorgeous, classic Williams score. I’ve missed this. John Williams will get his 47th Oscar nomination for WAR HORSE, no question. Maybe a 48th for TINTIN. Whoa. There’s a brief moment in “No Man’s Land” where Williams goes all PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN on us. OMG…the solo piano version of the main theme in “Remembering Emilie, and Finale” is breaking my heart. WAR HORSE first impression – Lacks the usual Williams concert suite of the main theme, but the overall score is a fantastic return to form. As Williams’ first dramatic score in 6 years, it is a godsend to fans, and one of the maestro’s finest in years. The final track, “Homecoming,” is a breathtaking 8 minute summation of the score’s themes. Tremendous Williams material.
Incanus 5,858 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 A promising first impression. Although I could not have for the life of me (I am of course looking through the rosy coloured JW glasses) spotted Williams going all POTC on the track No Man's Land.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,077 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 no concert track? Oh no! First Tintin, how this one....
