  1. I have the other trilogy since the day it was released, but I can´t resist and I will buy the new one only for the new material. I have two dvd editions of CEOTTK and SVP, so...
  2. Maybe Indy´s lost brother?? But, he doesn´t look like Kevin Costner... garbage, don´t do it again! You played with my heart....
  3. You said it yourself, it's funny. And how many customers do you have that can hum "Hyperspace" and whistle "Yoda's Theme" while browsing DVD's anyway? Mmm not many I think... You have to go to Fnac in Madrid ! I know! But the true thing is that I work in the dvd/soundtrack section with another 10 or 12 empolyers and I am the only one that is in charge of soundtracks and care or know something about them. Here in Spain the soundtrack thing is very minoritary. We have always had the typical soundtrack of songs and stuff like "Amelie", "Blade Runner", "Grease"... and only had the big releases of Sony, Universal or Warner and some Varese (when a title it´s released it usually arrive like 2 or 2 units). It´s sad, but thank God there is internet and amazon.
  4. Worst?? Clearly you didn't understand it. sorry but the worst is John Landis' segment, by a long shot. Spielberg's was 2nd worst or 3rd best, but it featured outstanding music by JG that somewhat saved it. Spielberg's worst work, AI, absolutely his biggest failure. Features the worst acting performace ever in a Spielberg film. I heard he came close to firing her, (frances O'conner) she was pathetic. The film is bad proyect. The only segment that I like is the last one (Miller´s). The Dante´s one has its moments, but it is not particulary good, so the two worst ones for me are the Landis´ one and Spielberg´s. Landis is an average director and he has a lot of problems with his segment (the dead of the leading actor and two little boys...) and Spielberg is a genius, that´s whay I said that his segment is the worst one. And Goldmsith music is good but it doesn´t save the show and make it good... I don´t agree with your opinion on A.I. I think it is his second most underrated movie behind Empire of the Sun. It has very good moments. I tell more when I´ll watch it again in the next days.
  5. Speaking of which, last week I went by your section of the store and there you were, playing The Empire Strikes Back in a volume that would make any of us proud. But was it on shuffle? It was jumping from "Hyperspace" to "The Imperial March" and so on. Isn´t funny that you are always talking like you know me and I don´t know who you are? Why don´t you introduce yourself? I´m not shy (I attend to strangers everyday...). And I don´t think that it was on shuffle, I usually play full scores, altougth sometimes I repeat tracks like "Asteroid Field"... I´m sorry but I have to end the speculation about this box. I have the complete Bertus cataolgue of soundtracks and it appers something called "Indiana Jones Trilogy Box" from EMI, available since 13/01/2004 for 69.99 euros (well my catalogue it is like a year old). I don´t know what the hell this box is, maybe the old soundtracks put together, but for sure not a new box...
  6. Worst?? Clearly you didn't understand it. I would love to have an Indy "Blue" box, but comon´ we are talking about a new Indy score... can´t wait for KotCS
  7. Of course i admire him. He is my favourite director, and whitout a doubt one of the most important directors in cinema story. I own all of his films on dvd (including "Amazing Stories") and I am waching all his movies again (including bonus materials, es I know I am sick!) in order to prepare myself for TKOTCS). This is how I go so far: 1972: Duel: ***1/2 Good television effort that work like a film, preparing audiences for bigger stories. 1974: Sugarland express: *** Nice movie, but not very memorable, the big stuff was coming... 1975: Jaws: ****1/2. Great adventure movie. It started the myth. 1977: CEOTTK: ****1/2. Great film qith classic moments, very touching. 1979: 1941: **1/2 Has good moments, but it is too much "noisy" and the humor doesn´t work always... Surely one of his worst works. 1981: Raiders: ***** Classic, one of the greatest adventure films of all time. 1982: E.T.: ***** A masterpiece. I cryed again (of emotion) several times during the movie. I think the only time Williams music (per se) made me cry was the first time I saw the dvd documentary of the 20th release of the film with Williams music in direct... 1982: Poltergeist: *** Good horror film, it influenced a lot of films. I include it because altougth it is not certain if he directed the movie or some scenes, he work in the story and in the production everyday of the schedule (Goldsmith said that he never talk with Hooper in postproduction...) 1983: The Twiligth Movie: ** His segment it´s the worst of the movie and it is said a lot... Without a doubt one of his worst works. 1984: TOD: ***1/2. It has very good moments and it is the Indy film of my childhood but with perspective it can be compare with the "perfection" of Raiders or the quality of LC 1985: Amazing Stories: Ghost Train **1/2 Not bad but not very good / The Mission *** Very entertainig. 1985: The Color Purple: ***1/2 Very good film but not at the level of other of his big dramas (Empire of the Sun, Schindler and Munich). It always make me cry at the end. 1987: Empire of the Sun ****1/2 Agree with it being one of the most underrated films of his career. I really like it, it has s lot of memorable scenes. The cinematography is great, like the music. I will continue as far I watch the next movies....
  8. You know that I work in Fnac, and I can tell you that Bertus it is not a label, it is the service of international orders in Fnac (I don´t know how to explain it well, but it is the service for import cds that are not available in your country, recently i order CEOTTK in Bertus from Japan, I expect it in the next weeks).
  9. I love the three of them (sorry Joe, I must have bad taste...), but my really favourite is ROTS.
  10. I really admire him for gave us Star Wars and Indiana Jones. He is not a genius like Williams or Spielberg but thanks to him I love cinema.
  11. I think it should be a mistake but in the spanish web of Fnac http://www.fnac.es/dsp/?servlet=extended.H...p;prodID=710545 it says that the b.s.o. it is going to be released the May 6 (released by Universal Music Spain). I work in Fnac Callao (in Madrid) in the dvd and soundtrack section, so I will investigate the thing, but I can tell you that the new trilogy in dvd (and the three films individually) it is released in Spain the 7th, six days before it is released in America (May 13 in amazon.com) so I don´t know what to think... :By the way, the ost is gonna over 20 euros! (I have order it by amazon, for 9,95$ = like 7 euros! damn what a big difference!)
  12. TOD was the only Indiana film that I saw in my childhood, so was a favourite to me (Kalima!! Kalima!!). But now, I really think that altought it is a very entertaining movie, it is the worst in the trilogy. ROTLA is a masterpiece, no doubt. And LC is really great (the chemistry between Ford and Connery is fantastic) and it is the more "personal" story (for Indy and for Spielberg) of the saga.
  13. BTTF trilogy were my favourite films (after SW trilogy) when I was a child. I couldn´t stop watching them on VHS and TV. I recently watched them again, and they are still great. The Delorean is the best car in film story. The direction and the music are great. And Michael J. Fox is a genius. The first one is a masterpiece (the script is fantastic). The second was always my favourite (the future! and come back to the first movie in the 50s!!). The third one is clearly the worst (the Doc´s love story...uff). But it has a great begining and ending.
  14. Look at my name!! I love Star Wars, the original trilogy were my favorite films when I was a child. The films made me falling in love with movies and I think they are the main reason for my dream of work in the film industry. And of course, I started to like Williams because of them. And yes, I also love the prequels. I have never seen any of the Star Trek series, and only a couple of films but I don´t remember anything (only that Whoopi Goldberg was on one of them). With J.J. Abrahams (and Giacchino) in the new film (and being a prequel) I will give it an oportunity.
  15. I like the cover because i like the poster because I like Struzan´s work. @ the haters: what were you expecting? If it was diferent it wouldn´t be classic Struzan
  16. All of them P.D.: specially the chase one
  17. Since I am starting to buy Goldsmith soundtracks (now I have only "Alien", the "Omen" trilogy, "First Knigth" and "the 13th Warrior") and the first Poltergeist is out of stock, I was planing to buy the second one and "The Wind and the Lion" next. Are they good choices, or should I buy another ones instance?
  18. Wow, I went back today for four days of vacation in Alicante and when I saw this topic I was considering to get this because I´m starting to enjoy Goldsmith (I bought Alien and The Omen trilogy in the last month). It looks like I´m late...
  19. Great actor and great star, it is difficult to think in another actor with such that big films in his career RIP Mr. Heston
  20. 1. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (I adore it) 2. Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (I´m Obi-Wan...) 3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 4. Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone 5. Munich (I love the two themes) 6. War of the Worlds (the first non SW Williams score that I owned) 7. Minority Report (don´t know why the hate here, I think it is a really funny listening) 8. Memories of a Geisha 9. A.I. 10. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 11. The Patriot (good theme, the score is ehh for me but I have to listen it more) 12. Catch Me If You Can 13. The Terminal (not my stile)
