You literally just described what a trailer is.

Which is why we all should be happy that John Williams is still scoring star Wars because his music realy helps connect things

A work friend has, over the past while, been doing this ... he's currently about halfway through the 2015 season. It's been a lot of fun to chat about it with someone to whom it's all new ... with every newly-minted Whovian, the world becomes a less shitty place IMHO.

I hoped it would be something like that!!!

They won't recast, they've admitted as much.

There'll be a time jump between VIII and IX and they'll probably open with a funeral or something (complete with holographic Leia atop a casket or something, as Luke, Rey and the remaining Resistance generals console one another).

The crawl will mention the First Order have taken a big scalp in their war against the Resistance (assassinating Leia) and that will trigger the Galactic war to end all wars. My hope is this becomes the motivating factor for Luke's arc in IX; vengeance will carry him through the film and he will finally succumb to the Dark Side (after losing his New Jedi Academy, his best friend and his sister, all as a result of taking Ben Solo under his wing).

Maybe the plot of IX will actually revolve around Rey turning him back to the Light. It would be refreshing if something totally unexpected happens in VIII, like Snoke or Ren betraying one another and murdering the other as a power grab.

My biggest hope is that it is scored by John Williams.

The original version of water would be in the liquid state, right?

Indeed it doesn't sound digital at all. Not only he chooses the wrong takes for his releases, but the wrong sources too. I wonder how he didn't put "music composed and conducted by James Horner" on the cover.

Temple of Doom wasn't a digital recording, though.  It was recorded to analog, and whoever made new transfers of the original tapes for the Concord boxset didn't do the transfer right, and we ended up with many cues transferred at the wrong speed.  The whole box set is fairly slapdash, and a new Matessino edition of these scores would be sooooooooo welcome some day.

I was thinking the same thing.

Granted, I know nothing about waveforms, other than to recognize clipping, but can you really tell by looking at a wav that effort has gone in to the remastering process?

Nowadays, I let my ears do the judging. I've bought many a remasters in my day, and when I was younger I was struggling to hear/recognize that they sounded better than my old analog-to-digital CDs. They were supposed to sound better!! Why else remaster? Why else put out a different version, if it was worse?

Until I decided that the label "remastered" wasn't the key. It was listening. Whatever sounded better, sounded better, no matter the technology or marketing labels behind it.

At least with musicals the songs have to stand out and  memorable  even better if they are used in the underscore.

My fav little moment is when Rey is polishing the scrap metal she found and she briefly looks up and sees a very old lady do the same. It's fleeting, and it works.

Maybe this is the final trilogy in that saga and is about the end of the Skywalker line?  With Luke, Leia, and Ben dead at the end?

I can see where you're coming from, but this is the "Skywalker saga" (Kathleen Kennedy's words). Kylo Ren being the only Skywalker offspring would be a little unsatisfying (unless Rey's lineage is something even more important to the Force).

The anthology films should be the place where we don't see Skywalkers, IMO.
