  1. And here I am only going nuts over the very noticeable ADR on Gadot from 0:29-0:39 in the YouTube clip. Lol.
  2. More news out of Variety. Really picking up steam now! (Okay okay. I'm done now)
  3. They had to go with 2.35:1. Ulyssesian's story is one of the most cinematic experiences you'll ever see - Exclusively in Theaters on November 16th.
  4. JWFAN EXCLUSIVE. I've obtained a leaked screenshot from the upcoming trailer for one of the most anticipated new films of 2022.
  5. I still need to see Rocketman. I've heard great things about it.
  6. I have the same hope. I may not even see the film until it comes out on streaming. I might just experience the score alone for several months. I am a tad fearful that they'll have forced JNH to do a bunch more nostalgic callbacks to Hedwig's Theme like they did with The Hobbit though. Even the few times they did it in FB1 it stuck out like a sore thumb.
  7. Love it. Might have been cooler though if it was 1:1 so the whole thing would've looked more like an album cover.
  8. Sorry, I was not meaning to imply that this would convince you that this one scene has "good" editing. John himself admits the scene has issues in the interview. I'd have to be an absolute loon to use this as proof the editing of that scene is "good". I share that more so 1.) for additional context on what exactly happened to cause the issue and 2.) bring up how ridiculous it is that people love to use that one scene to dismiss the entire film as even a contender for best editing. John also mentions that briefly in the interview. It's like saying any film that has one rough moment of CGI should disqualify it for Best VFX (and most films nominated for Best VFX do have some rough moments in them) For anyone who has not actually sat down and watched Bohemian Rhapsody, the internet would lead them to believe the entire film is edited this way. I'm so tired of seeing this one scene being shared around. Lol. I have yet to see anyone pull up any other scenes from this film to further discount it's editing - it's always this one. I do also find it silly though to count the cuts in a particular duration as if that somehow supports that it's "bad" editing. It just all depends on the scene, it doesn't work here, but I can totally see a conversation or a meeting being edited this way to create a vibe of anxiety or tension. All that being said, the phenomenon John talks about- it feeling different in the theater- is completely true. I had absolutely no negative reaction to the editing of that scene when I first saw it in a theater and you think I would've since I do it professionally. The person I was with also did not notice anything was amiss. I was surprised to find the internet outraged the film won Best Editing simply because of this one scene. It's just not as black and white of an issue as it's made out to be. To wrap up, because it's the internet and if you defend something you simply must think it's a flawless masterpiece - I also don't think Bohemian Rhapsody is a perfect film by any means. It was a very cool experience in theaters, but it does have it's issues - in hindsight, this scene is one of them.
  9. Totally agree @TheUlyssesian. I really have to wonder if this would've been better off as an anthology type of series, where each film focuses on a different group of individuals contributing to this overarching story. That way there's commitment to changing out the cast vs this luke-warm approach where they're desperately trying to shoe horn in the cast from the first film. The first film very much so feels like a completed story to me with little winks towards the future, but nothing that immediately necessitates a sequel with these characters (even though I did want one). Wonder if it would've helped to have focused more on different characters in Film 2 and deviate completely from the cast of the first film. Certainly would've given Film 2 some more focus. The alternative of course is to do a better job of weaving the main characters in more prominently with everything else going on, but instead we keep getting more and more side characters every film.
  10. I feel obligated to reshare this every time I see this ridiculous "bad editing" argument get brought up relating to Bohemian Rhapsody:
  11. He's bound to be one of the better parts of the film. I would hope so!
  12. Another pretty terrible poster. It really does look like a direct to video movie based off the posters. Also. Official upload of the new trailer: Looks like the plot leaks were very accurate. Gosh this really does not look good.
  13. Why not just pre-tape the whole thing and edit everything "for time"? Who cares if it's live or not?
  14. No they do not come from just him. He's mentioned before that him and his team sometimes have competitions to come up with the punny titles. I know his music editor has come up with a few of them. I'll see if I can track down a source on that, because I can't remember where I got that from. EDIT: @Luke Skywalker was the source for this. I knew I remembered reading that on here. Also can't remember where I got this from either but the clicking sort of sound throughout "Enterprising Young Men" and other cues featuring Gia's Star Trek main theme have been referred to as "Griff Sticks" by Giacchino. I feel like I recall him saying it was an instrument that Griffy had made or something. Also trying to find a source on that. Lol.
  15. This movie looks so dumb and utterly ridiculous. Can't wait to see it. Lol.
  16. Wow! This is wild. Lol. Looking forward to purchasing and supporting it, as flawed as it may be.
  17. Huge fan of the show and I'm annoyed as hell that Lakeshore decided not to release the very last Volume of music. Why bother releasing Volumes 1-7 and just not release 8?
  18. There's a ton of media articles about it, but they all originate with this Podcast as the source: https://collider.com/george-lucas-docuseries-ilm-lawrence-kasdan/ https://screenrant.com/george-lucas-documentary-star-wars-lawrence-kasdan-details/ https://www.slashfilm.com/608149/docuseries-about-george-lucas-and-ilm-coming-from-director-lawrence-kasdan/ https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2021/09/george-lucas-ilm-documentary-lawrence-kasdan.html https://comicbook.com/starwars/news/empire-strikes-back-writer-lawrence-kasdan-to-direct-docuseries-george-lucas/ No mention of it on Kasdan's imdB. I wonder if it was supposed to be a secret and JNH spilled the beans lol.
  19. Exactly. Very confusing. Very difficult to say what it is. I'd love someone to just come out and tell us what these are.
  20. @JayThey're probably demos for the Mother! Opera that Aronofsky was ideating on with Johannsson. Source: https://screenrant.com/darren-aronofsky-mother-opera/ The article does acknowledge that Aronofsky could've been joking. But unless the Album title "Mother Sketches for Opera" is also some kind of joke, then it was probably for the Opera idea. I suppose though these could just be selections from his original Mother! demos that were then compiled into an album of ideas for the opera? Interesting though regardless!
  21. Nice. Interesting that they just went with DropBox. Lol.
