  1. Will do. I did download it but did not yet have time to read anything. I do have a random question actually. Do you happen to know what did the recording dates for The Legend of Zorro took place in 2005? I know you have encyclopedic knowledge of everything Horner and I was curious to see which AFM reuse rules apply to this great score. 😀 Karol
  2. Cool, I am really looking forward to this. It's interesting that both Goldsmith and Horner receive multi-volume books around the same time. Karol
  3. Cutthroat Island vinyl arrived very quickly from Spain. As you can see from the credits, this is a new mix of the original album, courtesy of Bulk, Matessino and Malone. Karol
  4. Fantastic to see this back in print. I've got three albums of this already so I'm good. But I rather fancy the new vinyl of the OST album. Might get that. Fancy some Matessino/Malone magic sprinkled with cute crackles. Quartet releases are actually very lovingly done. Karol
  5. I would be happy if they included his programme as a bonus actually. Karol
  6. For whatever reason, I liked second season more than the first. It is not without issues (some of which we can talk about once you're done) but I liked the wacky s-f energy of it. Karol
  7. Another Horner grail! And comes out on my birthday. Karol
  8. Absolutely. Really solid score. Kamen has taught him well. I also hope for the re-relases of K-PAX, Johnny English and The Reign of Fire. It's unfortunate he never got to do a Star Wars project. It's funny actually, as his late wife produced some of the early Disney-era projects. He is EXACTLY the kind of person they should be going for. Karol
  9. Johnny boy is ever so indecisive. In 2008, it was Blanchett that was "his kind of babe". Karol
  10. Wait, are they already shooting Indy 6 through 8? Karol
  11. Just listened to the main programme all the way through while writing essay for a course. This score can sometimes be much of muchness, sort of like Temple of Doom, but it is so rich in enthusiasm and themes that I just cannot hate it. Attending recording sessions must have been quite something for everyone involved. I cannot think of many scores that put so much effort into each cue (part of the reason why it might be so exhausting sometimes). Lovely presentation, I can see myself revisiting this work much more frequently now. On a side note, I have only heard the 2012 release once. I didn't like it from the outset, especially the film stem bits which really bothered me (and compared to some of you, I am tone deaf!). It is the only time in the LLL run I thought the ball has been dropped and the product was subpar, save maybe for the packaging. But, I suppose, all is forgiven and it will be now merely an interesting footnote in the history of the film and its music. Karol
  12. After hearing the latest Legacy of JW podcast, I really want the big set now. If only, to support such endeavours. Funnily enough, I've never even seen the film! Karol
  13. Yeah, this was definitely among the best episodes so far. I love all this "musical archaeology" work. Karol
  14. True, although it should have been this Dafoe. Karol
  15. It might have not been a perfect ending but it was definitely better than the ending of KOTCS which said absolutely nothing at all about the character and made no attempt to create any dramatic conflict whatsoever. DOD handled some things clumsily, true, but at least it was going for "something". Anything. My only real issue with the film is that by existing, very much like SW sequels, it makes the happy "riding into sunset" ending of the previous movies sort of meaningless. Same reason why sequels to romantic comedies never work. Who wants disappointment and drama after satisfying ending? I know real life works like that but I don't necessarily need it in my fairy tale world. Karol
  16. They're just booklets. I've got both releases and they're jewel cases. Karol
  17. Red Sonja by Ennio Morricone. I actually really enjoy this score, shame it is so brief. It actually compliments Basil Poledouris' music quite well. Karol
  18. 1984 is Zimmer's take on the Helicopter Sequence (in a way). Karol
