One very special moment everybody knows but I think no one mentioned: the few seconds of music, less than thirty for sure, just before the Death Star explodes in Star Wars. What is it? 49 or 50 times the same note with brass written like percussions. Amazing!

On the whole, it is an absolutely fantastic score.

A missed opportunity, for sure. There were plenty of times when he could have appeared just like Bernard Herrmann did in Hitchcock’s The Man who knew too much. The Obi-Wan Club scene at the beginning of Temple of Doom was a possible one. Either playing the piano or conducting the band.

I’ve waited many years for this Variety cover. It’s about time! Speaking of Time (Magazine), what are they waiting for?? I hope he wins the Oscar - though I doubt he will -, it may open their eyes…

Beautiful photos, congratulations! 46 years of collecting John Williams here. First purchase: Star Wars single in the fall of 77 when the film was released in France. Then the double LP at Xmas. It’s been quite a ride since. This man has really brightened our lives, hasn’t he?
