  1. I guess John has final say. So that's probably our answer. Could be both.
  2. It's not a place that's normally open to outside hire. If we'd used the upstairs room at the "fiddle and pisspot" pub or somewhere, I'm sure they'd love a nice trip advisor write up about how great their facilities are for small gatherings of film music fanatics But the polite request was made, and we all politely obliged. No grumbles. Just a great day.
  3. I can see why it might look that way, but it's not like that at all. It's just we were very fortunate to be able to have the event in a very special space, and the people who worked there and made it available for the day asked if we could refrain from shouting about it. Sounds all very clandestine, but it's just a case of respecting their wishes. Well. that, AND all the national security secrets we discussed at length.
  4. I think in Mike's own words (or words to similar effect remembered a bit wrong) these clips were the things he always wishes he could include in releases, but isn't allowed. So they felt like a really special privileged peek behind the curtain. Absolutely fascinating stuff. That, coupled with the request to not tag our location on social media and wotnot added to the general hush hush vibe. But I'm glad Mike has said we're cool to talk about the clips. Trouble is, try as I might, no one at the bus stop seems to care
  5. I love the large format of LP's and think it's always great to hold the artwork in my hands. I'm looking forward to doing it with this... but.... seeing those pictures it seems just so much more painfully obvious on the LP.... how did no one think "Tell you what, there's a huge empty spot in the top left that would be perfect for the logo." It baffles me.
  6. I think it's quite a fascinating arrangement, and certainly one of the best Mutter ones. It takes the theme from a fairly jazzy score....upbeat, but definitely with a melancholy element, and makes it sound like it would be more at home in a cold war drama. Love it.
  7. That was an absolutely phenomenal weekend. The event on Saturday was so good. Huge thanks to Maurizio, Tim and guests. Hugh and Eric were just wonderful to listen to. Emilio is always a pleasure, and the things Mike spoke about and shared with us were incredible. I felt genuinely spoilt. It was a great feeling to be in that room with everyone. I met some fantastic folk, and caught up with some lovely friends. And then the concert on Sunday too! I was just being spoon-fed Williams love with a shovel all weekend 😂
  8. Hmmmm, I already have the original LP.... will I be able to resist? Probably not
  9. Don't know if anyone else is seeing the same, but the product page doesn't even have the "you might be interested in..." section, with the link to the LP. Easy to read a bit much into it, but it somehow feels a little more final than before. Hmmmmmmm
  10. Eeek. Didn’t even stop to think. Sorry mods. Let me know if I’m in trouble and I’ll remove it. I’ll sit in the corner, drink the blood of Kali and think about what I’ve done.
  11. This is great! I've been thinking about trying to achieve something similar, but putting Helena back at the end along with this little transition...... Indyedit.mp3
  12. So. You're recording that weird synth rubbish version of the Star Wars theme today eh? Yep. That's me. Got to hand it in before lunch. You going to play all the right notes? Meh. Might go to lunch early, so.....
  13. I guess if there was ever a place in the world we could confess to dreaming about John, it's this forum I once had a dream where I and a few friends were invited into a room where there might be "someone of great interest to you," so we went in, and it was John's piano room. He was super welcoming, spoke to us all in a really relaxed way. He played a few tunes for us that he was working on (hah! My brain has the audacity to try and come up with new williams material in my sleep!) and we were flicking through his leather bound scores. I suggested some re-recordings of older scores should happen and he said he thought that was a great idea. Then, he said... "oh, there are some drinks over there, please... help yourselves." He sat down on the sofa, kicked off his slippers and I went over to get a drink. All he had was warm cans of shitty lager. And I thought to myself... "oh my god, John drinks Fosters?!?!" Woke up devastated. How could you do me like that John. Unbelievable.
  14. Incredible secret gif skills........ which also appear to be completely secret from me too
  15. That Mancini thought has got me all excited. First Pink Panther?.... Have they found it? Or A Shot In The Dark. Man, that would be amazing. A quote from Johnny T about Hank would be very appropriate indeed. It would make sense if that were to happen over in Quartet country following the last boxset. Chris Malone doesn't exactly need Mike to hold his hand on something like that though... so who knows.
  16. This sounds..... bobbins. Sure, I can admire the approach and ethos and intention.... but erm, it didn't work!
  17. A friend just sent me the main titles.... wow. I can see why they headed back to the UK! That's really awful. And a big shame if this is how the 4K disc is going to sound.
  18. Maybe he'll feel unwell upon arrival and be replaced by John This looks great. Might have to make a trip down south
  19. Not to derail this thread.... but aaaaaanyone else raise an eyebrow at the use of the original theatrical print of Star Wars in that interview? No "Episode IV" subtitle. What an interesting choice.... could that mean it's finally coming?
  20. Brilliant. Can’t get enough of this theme already, and that’s just YouTube rips! Sounds like we’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to release time
  21. ahh ok. Yeah, thinking about it, I’m fairly sure we had the same TV program of it on UK tv last Christmas. Fools! 😂 Leia definitely on the Blu-ray. I have no idea why, but I haven’t devoured and obsessed quite so much over the Berlin Blu-ray as much as the Vienna. But I watched it this Christmas Eve and it’s so good!!
  22. We know that Leia's Theme is from the Thursday when we were there, as they didn't perform it any other night.
  23. That shot of him lifting his hands at the end is fantastic! As if to say “and that’s how I’m still smashing it out 48 years later” 😄
