How about you watch the movie before deciding if the film won on its own merit or not?

So uh....well.... the other night after I beat the Master Sword Trials?  Well, I was all hyped from pulling it off, right?  So even though it was late at night and I should have just gone to bed, well, I didn't.  After all the cutscenes and stuff and I had control again, I teleported to the shrine nearest Hyrule Castle, since the only things left in my entire Quest Log are a DLC side quest about finding armor that's hidden there, and of course DESTROY GANON

I figured I'd just poke around the castle, see if I could find the armor and call it a night.

Well uh, so I was wandering all around, not really knowing what I was doing (I'd already explored the entire castle 3 years ago, but didn't remember any specifics), and next thing I know it said something about SANCTUM on the screen, I walked another step and it was cutscene time!  Turns out I triggered the CALAMITY GANON fight.  The Divine Beast Hyrule Champions launched an attack that took him down to half health, then I was on my own!

I had no clue what I was doing.  He had all these huge weapons he'd whack me with, hop all over the place, block some attacks.  Turns out, I never learned anything the whole fight;  Between my Attack Up food, being able to eat more food whenever I was low on health, my armor being at 84 Defense, having all the upgraded divine powers, etc, I just fumbled my way through the whole fight.  Launching 5x Bomb Arrows at him from the sky, whacking him with the Master Sword, I dunno.  Eventually he was just dead, lol.

Then more cutscenes, then the outside fight, which was kinda nifty, but kinda not.  Just doing 1 thing (hitting a spot with an arrow) a bunch of times in a row.  Final cutscenes, credits, more cutscenes.  Back at the home screen.

    Damn.  I can't believe it.

I kind of want to re-experience the ending again on the TV, since I did all this handheld, but I dunno.  It turns out what everyone says is true, the ending in very underwhelming compared to the rest of the experience.  LOL.

So, yea.  I beat BOTW almost 6 year to day after I started, lol.  The system says I've played for "245 hours or more"

After going back into my save file, I see a couple new things.  It gives me a completion percentage: Mine's at 36%.  But the game itself doesn't break down specifically what I'm missing right?  I assume it's all korok seeds, but I there could be something else >shrug<

It also tells me how many quests there are.  I've completed all the Main Quests and Shrine Quests, but guess what?  I've only completed 84 out of 90 side quests!

One of those is the DLC quest about finding armor in the castle I haven't done yet, but that means that THERE ARE 5 QUESTS IN THIS GAME I NEVER DISCOVERED IN 245 HOURS!!!!!

    Holy hell

I had to find an online list of Side Quests, and scroll through my list and compare, to see what I missed.  I missed these 5:

Not surprised to hear this, but I'm glad it'll get one last lap, it had a good run. As I've said before, the show finally came into its own in season 4. Hopefully whatever comes next has learned from its many, many mistakes.

It's great fun! Excellent continuation of the SNES DKC series, I'm glad they put this one on the Switch. The Wii-U had some amazing games that I missed out on and this is one of them. It gets proper Nintendo-hard later on in the game though, so be prepared for that. I don't think I ever fully completed it now I think of it, but I don't think I've 100%'d a game since the first Galaxy. I'll always finish the main game/story, but I just don't have the patience for completionist gaming anymore.

OOof.  The Master Sword trial is HARD.

The issue is that because you have no armor at all, every single bit of damage you take is devastating.  And with so few materials around to cook with, its practically impossible to get full health again, you're always low.

I've died 3 times just attempting the Beginner's set of trials.  Made it as far as a water level with lizalfos.  I might just abandon this and beat the game, maybe bother with this later.

    I completed the Champion's Ballad!

The "divine beast" was actually really fun, some nice and clever puzzles to solve.  And it was nice that there was no malice anywhere, just some easy gaurdian bots after you unlock each of the 4 thingies

Then the final boss was... easy too!  I beat him on my first try.  Granted, I'm sure he would have been super difficult earlier in the game, but deep in the late game as I am, I have all this fully upgraded armor that gives me massive defense, endless food in my inventory, etc.  I put on my Ancient set and used Ancient weapons which gave me 80% attack boost, then stacked a Attack Up meal on top of that so it didn't take me a ton of time to lower his health.  I used bomb arrows on an Ancient Bow, and the Ancient Buzzsaw for the first two phases.  For the third phase when he shoots those spiked balls out at you, I Stasis'd them and whacked them to fly them back towards him, then when he landed on the ground equipped this 71 might Ancient Axe++ I had and swung it around and around and quickly took off the last of his health

The motorcycle is fun!  It's a big hard to control, and is more or less just a free horse you can summon at will, but it's still neat.  Oh!  And the final cutscene you earn was really nice too, and I put the picture you get on the wall in my house.

So now it's just the Master Sword quest, then I'm gonna re-watch all the memories and go beat Ganon

It’s pretty much spot on in comparison to the game, even down to the song they dance to. This episode was written by Neil, after all.

I enjoyed it a lot. I thought both of the performances and the set design were excellent.

To me it feels pretty consistent with how the show is illustrating Joel. He has narcissistic tendencies and a protector complex, even before the apocalypse his main purpose in life was bailing out Tommy from whatever shit he got himself into. Joel tells us as much in episode 4, and the events of the pilot lay it all out for us. Tommy goes off and gets in trouble, calls Joel, then Joel "reluctantly" goes off to help his little brother. But what kicks things off this time is that Tommy hasn't called Joel. And that's ringing alarm bells in Joel's head, so he goes off with Tess to try and figure out where he's gone. The reason being that Tommy never really needed Joel to bail him out, but Joel absolutely needed Tommy in his life to "save", or give his life purpose. You can see it in Pedro's eyes during the latest ep; Joel's so hurt that Tommy never called him.

I feel like the scene is telling us a few deeper things about Tommy and Joel. It's implied that Tommy was encouraged not to contact Joel because it would put Jackson at risk of exposure over the radio. But it's also pretty clear that if Tommy really wanted to contact Joel he would have - he's a headstrong guy. The subtext is that Tommy is ashamed of Joel, of the things they did together, and of the things that Joel forced Tommy to do so they could "survive", and is cutting off contact. We're being invited to see Joel in a new, unflattering light, as a manipulator of Tommy. Whether or not we agree with that is up to us, but it's how Maria and Tommy feel about Joel (supported by Maria's sharp questioning to Ellie about Joel), and it's not entirely untrue based on what we know. All these layers are operating under the surface of this episode and adds a lot of richness to the performances. Great stuff.

I thought for a second that they might've been going down a different path. Then I remembered what show I was watching. You'll forgive me; 99% of adaptations make even dumber changes on a regular basis, I've been conditioned to expect the worst.

Wooooow, this is fantastic. A comedy drama that almost fully plays out in a restaurant.
Jeremy Allen White plays a chef who worked in the best restaurant in the world but gets left his brother restaurant after he dies. The whole series is about how he tries to get restaurant back in shape with the people who work there. To tell more would be a waste.

The whole cast is great. As are the direction and writing. As someone who has worked in a number of kitchens, a lot of things in this show where very relatable. That was cool but also a bit weird to see actual events unfold on screen.

It's 8 half hour episodes, so it's an easy watch and I highly recommend it.
